"Wake up!" I say to Brian, playfully hitting him with a pillow. He groans and partially opens his eyes.
"Just a few more minutes," he says and his eyes flutter shut. Again, I hit him with a pillow. Today is our sight seeing day and I am not going alone. "Jeez, Sabrina. Let me sleep." When I wake up late you yell at me, but when you want to sleep in it's okay?
"Fine. I'll go out for breakfast by myself." I grab my purse and make sure I have enough money. I have no idea how to count the currency in England, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.
"Have fun with that," I hear Brian mumble. I roll my eyes, slip on my sandals, and head out the door.
---
"Excuse me," I say to the woman at the front desk of the hotel. She glances up from her computer and smiles at me. I'm not lesbian or anything, but she is stunning. She has short, straight brown hair and her skin is flawless."Are there any nice breakfast places around here?"
"Yes, there is one a couple blocks east from here. Just cross the street and continue past Buckingham Palace until you see a whole line of eateries." I really like British accents. I wish I had a British accent.
"Thank you." I put on a smile. "Have a nice day."
"Same to you."
---
"Table for one, please," I tell the host when I arrive at a small cafe that reminds me of the one at home. Except instead of being filled with old people, there are a bunch of teenagers. I fit right in.
"Would you like a counter seat instead?" the host asks. He's a short, middle aged man with graying hair.
"Um...sure, that would be great." He leads me to the counter and hands me a menu. I thank him and hop up on the stool.
"I've never seen you here before," a young woman behind the counter says to me right away. She has platinum blonde hair and is wearing a lot of makeup. She has a nose piercing as well as an eyebrow piercing. Damn, I wish I could pull off that look. I'd say she can't be more than 25 years old. She pours coffee into a mug and sets it down next to me. "Welcome to Sally's. You a tourist or you live here?" She places the coffee pot on the table and rests her elbows on the counter, waiting for me to answer.
"Tourist," I reply. I take a sip of coffee, and surprisingly it isn't bitter at all.
"Where you visiting from?" Her accent is very thick and doesn't sound British at all. At least not the British accent I'm used to.
"Chicago."
"Ah, America. I was only there once and I have to say it's pretty nice there."
"It's alright. Which state did you visit?"
"California. I have family there. Say...what's your name?" The waitress starts pouring coffee for other customers while continuing our conversation.
"Sabrina."
"Well, it's very nice to meet you, Sabrina. I'm Holly. How long will you be in town?" She brushes off her hands and rests them on her hips.
"Two weeks. I'm here with my boyfriend for our anniversary."
"Oh, that's wonderful. My boyfriend never takes me anywhere." She rolls her eyes.
"Sounds like we both might have boyfriend troubles." We both start laughing
"What's so funny?" someone says from behind me. I would turn around and see who it is, but I don't because I like to avoid awkward situations.
"It's nothing," Holly says, and looks behind me. Her eyes go wide. "Oh my God!" She rushes out from behind the counter. I turn around to see what all the fuss is about. Oh my God...
"I haven't seen you in so long," Holly cries, giving Harry the biggest hug ever. "How are you? How was tour? Did you see your mum? What--"
"Holly," Harry laughs. "Slow down." He glances at me and I look away.
"Oh," Holly says, sensing the awkwardness. "It's rude of me to not introduce you. Harry, this is Sabrina. Sabrina, this is Harry."
"I believe we already know each other." Harry holds out his hand for me to shake. I shake it.
"Long time, no see, Styles."
