"Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky." - Rabindranath Tagore, Stray Birds ]

The sand crunched below his boot clad feet, taking him closer to the edge of the shores where Seokjin sat and waited for him. A smile crept up on Jungkook's lips at the sight of the man, the one who meant a whole lot to him. It was crazy how his life was like these few months he had lived them with Seokjin. The amount of ups and downs would probably bode well as a rollercoaster at the amusement park, and the life lessons learned would always be kept close. Jungkook actually felt good to be alive, which was something he hadn't felt for a while.

He needed to forget about the past and stop living in it. Taehyung was never going to come back, Jimin was never going to come back. He finally could understand that and let go. He had Seokjin now.

Sitting down next to the man to announce his presence, he spoke up saying, "You know, my life was pretty dull until you came along and brought a lot of chromaticity to it."

Jungkook laughed. "I questioned why you were wearing brown. How weird of a person was I?"

Yet it brought a smile to Seokjin's face. All of it did. Seokjin cherished those moments because they were the reason why he was still around. Jungkook would never know but that day at the coffee shop was hell for Seokjin, and his simple yet charming encounter with him set his world on a different spectrum than it usually was, and Seokjin was extremely grateful for everything Jungkook did for him.

"I'm serious," Seokjin pushed. "It really set my life straight."

While Jungkook could agree that Seokjin brought color to his life as well, he also stripped him of it. One day he'd give him the color wheel and the next he sent it down the hill. It was a weird fluctuating wave they rode together, but Jungkook really couldn't ask for more. Seokjin respected him and wanted the best for him, and he couldn't fault the man for that. Even if he tried his hardest he knew he could never stop loving Seokjin.

He showed him things that colors could do, but he also showed how they could hurt. It was a weird process but one Jungkook appreciated. If he didn't receive it, he was sure he'd be in the rut he was in for all those years from letting his past abuse him. He wasn't going to let it happen again.

A smile found itself on the younger's face once more, earning one in return from the other male. It's now or never, he thought to himself. He wasn't exactly sure how he was going to bring it up but he knew he needed to, or he'd be put into a new rut. He opened his mouth to speak but Seokjin beat him to it, causing the words he was going to say completely disappear from his mind.

A laugh left Seokjin's lips as he shyly spoke up to the younger. "You know, I've been wanting to tell you this for a little bit but I didn't know exactly how to tell you." His eyes met with Jungkook. "I met someone." The young man's eyes widened a bit at Seokjin's words, his mind going blank for a moment. "He actually treats me well... better than anyone has ever been. He's sweet, kind, and very headstrong about the things that he loves. I'm extremely happy that I found him and I really think it'll all work out for me." The smile on Seokjin's face was clearly the look of a lovesick puppy who was kicked for so long and had finally found solace in his bitter life. His eyes beamed with so much infatuation as he spoke about the man, enough to make Jungkook heart break. But it didn't. He kept it glued.

Jungkook couldn't bare the thought of ripping away his happiness just for his own gain. There was absolutely no way he could do that. Not to Seokjin.

So, after a minute of silence and thinking of what to say, Jungkook returned a smile to Seokjin and gave him a loving pat on his back. Licking his lips as he thought of what to say, he held back on his emotions for one day, just to celebrate Seokjin's happiness.

"I'm glad," he whispered. "I'm glad you finally found happiness... and I want to thank you, also, for being my friend when I needed you the most."

Then his heart broke. Looking at Seokjin, letting his heart hang heavy, it broke but he knew he no longer could do anything about it. He wasn't going to ruin Seokjin's life for his own proceeds and he knew that. Instead, he decided to swallow his feelings and admire Seokjin's beauty just like before.

It was all he could do.
