I arrived in small town in Vale. They seem to have a some kind of ruling system. I'm beginning to wonder if the kingdoms are like that...I don't want to think about it.

The town is very peaceful and more gentle looking. I hope this town will prosper long for everyone could see such a beautiful town. Though I am concerned on how long it will last, if they let their guard down. That would be a shame.

I wonder if there's an inn nearby?

"Excuse me, sir? May I have a word?"

A middle aged man approached Lee. He was wearing a tan color uniform. With a brown holster belt around his waist. And a gold metal badge with word 'Sheriff' engraved.

"Am...I in trouble, Sheriff?" He said nervously.

He chuckled. "I hope not. It's not always normal seeing a young man in your age traveling alone."

"I see. Heheh. Am I under arrest, Sheriff?"

He smiled. That somehow put Lee at ease. "No, sir. You are not. Just a curious old man. In this town, we don't get a lot of folks traveling through here. Especially someone as young as you."

"I might look young, but I could defend myself pretty well. And you don't look old to me, Sheriff."

"I don't? Well my bones don't agree with you. My name is Sheriff Donovan West." Lee noticed a ring in his hand. A married man. Might have kids. Maybe his curiosity led to worry. Lee shook his hand. The Sheriff guided him to a small restaurant. Once inside, the people gathered around the Sheriff. They gave his small, but kind, talk. Lee noticed they respected the Sheriff. Ain't he so popular. Hahaha.

They both sat down and ordered what to eat. The Sheriff told Lee about what's actually happening in the town and around it. After the fall of Beacon, the citizens make their way through the town looking for shelter.

"Grimm followed but never made it to the town. The surrounding areas, however, weren't so lucky. Almost half of the citizens decided to live in this small town. The rest made their way east. Close to the coast. I was hoping that you might've run into them by chance. Anything could happen in the road. Especially when Grimm sightings are becoming common." The Sheriff lean back from his chair with a worried look in his face. Lee didn't know what to say. He hasn't run into anybody. Nor has he run into Grimm. What does that mean.

"I haven't run into anyone on the road. Nor the Grimm. It was an easy and safe trip getting to this town. Which I am grateful for."

"I see..." he looked down. Turning his ring. "They had children with them...right now...I could only think about the worst."

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be. All we can do is hope for the best."

"But you don't. Don't you, Sheriff?" He looked down and turned his ring again. Must be a habit.

"Sheriff." A man came in the restaurant wearing a navy blue uniform with a silver badge.

"Deputy? What is it now?"

"It's important, sir. It's about..." he lean forward whispering in his ear. He looked up and got up from his seat.

"Forgive me, Mr. Lee. I have some business to attend to. Please enjoy your stay in the town."

Lee stood up as well. "Is there anything I could do to help?"

"No no. It's a bit... personal. Good day."

The Sheriff exchange his goodbyes then left the restaurant. The deputy told him not to worry.

"It's just family matter. He could handle it. I'm more worried about the Strange activities from the abandoned village not too far from here."
