Clarence took his time in his small town. He told me nothing's changed when he left for combat school. But he still wanted to imprint the memory in his mind. After all, it's his home.

(Clarence POV)

As I walk inside my house, as I touched the walls with the tips of my fingers, as I breathed in the scent of my dad's favorite candle, I reminisce my days in the place I called home.

They were awful times but also happy ones too. When I cried, dad always sang a song to me. Hold me and telling me that everything will be alright. Dad's arms were big and strong at that time. I knew right then and there he was strong. But one time when I sneaked in his office, I saw tears running down his face. He was looking at a picture of mom. He was hurting as much as I was. Dad missed mom. How could she leave us like that? For a cause? What cause? I suppose she thinks I'm too human to understand what she felt. At times, I've always thought about her as my mom. Now, I don't see that way anymore. And I believe she doesn't see us as her family either.

"You ready?" Clarence opened his eyes. He had one last look of his home. He turned to Lee and nodded. Clarence is convinced he won't achieve anywhere in his town. Leaving is his only option at this moment. At times like this, anyone can be nervous. But Clarence is glad he's not. He's with a new friend. And that's something even better.

(End of Clarence POV)

"How long are we still going to walk? It's been hours now. My feet hurt!" Clarence said in agony.

"I could carry you if you want?" Lee said jokingly.

"Ok." Clarence quickly responded. Lee stopped in his tracks. He turned to face Clarence who's happens to be far behind. Lee was surprised of his answer.

"I was only joking." Lee said trying dodge the awkwardness.

"I wasn't." Clarence said seriously.

"I thought you hate to be carried." Lee said suspicious about Clarence's odd behavior.

"Dude. My feet hurt like a mother fucker, I take what I can get." Clarence replied rudely.

Lee sighed. He rubbed his head around it. He doesn't much care to carry him. He's just wondering how he will carry him. He could carry him in his arms like a princess, but Clarence wouldn't like it as much. He could wrap his arm over his shoulder, but then he'll complain about his arm hurting. A piggy back ride seemed like the only obvious solution, but he will soon find out about his fluffy rabbit tail. And Lee doesn't want that.

Lee still doesn't want anyone to know he's a faunus. He's worried about the clan finding out and putting his friend's life at risk. Lee knew he wasn't being fair to Clarence. He told Lee he's half faunus. Lee's afraid when Clarence find out, he won't never to trust him again. And he doesn't want that at all.

"Well? Aren't you going to carry me or not?" Clarence said.

Lee sighed. "Let's take a break."

They both find a spot to relax their bodies. After much discussion, they decided to camp the night as well. Lee went to gather the wood while Clarence prepared the food. Lee thought it was strange how they haven't run into the Grimm along the harsh road. After when they left town, they hardly saw any. Lee thought it was suspicious so he kept his guard up. Lee thought about the late deputy. How he said 'goddess'. Who is she? What is she looking for? What is she goal? So many questions and yet no answers. Lee returned to Clarence, almost done with the food.

"Took you long enough to get some measly wood." Clarence said annoyed.

"Their was a lot in my mind." He sat down the wood and help Clarence with the food.
