Chaeyoung's POV
"Condition two." The strange man continues, smirking, "How about your lifetime? He's precious to you, right? Living only up to your 30th birthday doesn't sound too bad."
I try to open my mouth to speak, but I could not move a muscle. In front of the strange man was a girl that looks strangely similar to me. In her arms was a young man that appears strangely familiar. Within a few seconds, I realize who it was. It was Jungkook, lifeless in my arms, covered in blood.
-
I wake with a gasp, feeling the surface beneath me. I came in contact with soft fabric, indicating that I am still indeed on the bed that I fell asleep on last night. I sigh in relief, but many questions run through my head. What the heck was that? Why was Jungkook covered in blood? Who was that strange man? I rub my head in annoyance. Why was this happening to me? And apparently I only have 10 more years to live. Great.
"Wow Chaeyoung. What a great idea to be sarcastic over a serious situation like this. What a genius." I mutter under my breathe, "Not."
A light knock resonates from the door, breaking my train of thoughts.
"Chaeyoung?" Jungkook whispers from the other side, "are you awake?"
"Yes." I reply, slowly getting up from the comfort of the bed. Well, it's time to pretend that I am from this time period, because while that strange man was strange, I somehow believe in his words. I can't let Jungkook find out that I'm from the future.
-
"Are you sure you want me to stop here?" Jungkook asks me intently, confused.
Jungkook and I are currently in Jungkook's car. I have just told him to stop near the middle of the pedestrian lane. He is probably questioning my sanity, and I don't blame him, but I can't get close to him. I still haven't figured out what's going on with the strange man during my dreams, but I'll just follow my instinct and try not to be too friendly with Jungkook; therefore, I'm planning to ditch him from this point on. Totally fool proof plan.
"Believe it or not, I like to get some exercise from time to time." I joke, opening the car door. I stretch out my arms, causing a wave of pleasure to travel around my body. I turn towards Jungkook's direction, "Thanks for everything. I'll get going now."
I begin to walk away from the car, but the car keeps following me. "Yah, Chaeyoung, are you sure I should be leaving you in the middle of nowhere?" Jungkook persists, trying to convince me to to get back in the car. "Do you even have anywhere else to stay?"
I turn back towards the car, slightly annoyed, "Um, I know you don't know me that much, but I actually have friends... Surprisingly." I mutter the last bit under my breathe.
Jungkook shakes his head, "That's not what I meant by that, but I'll lend you my phone number just in case. You never know what could happen."
I bring my left hand to my mouth, biting my nails, a habit that I usually turn to when I'm nervous or embarrassed, "I may or may have not brought a phone along with me...."
Jungkook stares at me in disbelief, but he proceeds to grab a pen and paper to write down what I'm assuming is his number. He gestures for me to come closer, and so I did.
"Here. Keep my number. It's just in case something happens." He hands me the piece of paper.
I take it from him reluctantly. "Thank you."
He nods back in reply, "Hopefully I'll see you around. You do know Jin-hyung too, so there's a chance.
I smile, feeling excited for some reason. "I hope so too. I'll get going now. Farewell, for now."
