Chaeyoung's POV

Before I could reply, Jungkook interrupts, "Hyung? How do you know who Chaeyoung is?" He looks confused as well.

Jin jumps in surprise, as if only realizing Jungkook's existence, "I'd have to ask you the same question our dear maknae... Chaeyoungie here is my distant cousin." He explains proudly, and I visibly cringe. I love Jin and all, but he can be embarrassing at many instances. "She can be a little weird, like earlier when she thought I was with someone named Jisoo...." He glances at me, disappointed, "Chaeyoungie, I am wounded. You should know me better than that! Food is life. Who needs a love life?"

Jungkook and I roll our eyes simultaneously, but I was even more confused now.  This is the second incident that confirms that I am not in the present. Somehow, I time traveled, but is that even possible?

"Chaeyoung, you there?" Jungkook asks, waving a hand in front of my face.

I blink repeatedly, returning to reality. Right, I shouldn't have them worry. I'll figure this out somehow. "Yeah, sorry, I spaced out." I smile.

"Okay, but let me know if there's something wrong.  You've been spacing out a lot today." Jungkook replies, patting my back.

I recoil from his touch, surprised.

"Ah, sorry." Jungkook apologizes, taking back his hand in embarrassment.

"It's okay." I smile, my cheeks heating slightly.

"I hate to interrupt, but I'm still here you know." Jin huffs, irritated.

"Sorry oppa." I apologize, turning towards his direction.

Jin looks in between Jungkook and I, trying to figure out something. "Say Chaeyoungie, how do you know our maknae here?" Jin finally asks, gesturing towards Jungkook.

"Uhh...." I pause, glancing towards Jungkook's direction, "we met yesterday, but it's a long story."

"Oh, but I have time," Jin says, glancing down at his watch, "how about we talk about it over some food?"

"After we pay for groceries, but you're paying for the food hyung." Jungkook replies, staring intently at Jin.

"Okay, okay." Jin sighs, raising his arms up in surrender.

-

Jungkook and I stare in disbelief as Jin breaks into his contagious wind shield laugh.

"Y-you really thought she was Jimin dressing up as a g-girl?" Jin manages to wheeze out in his laughter, tears beginning to form in his eyes.

"Come on hyung!  You would have thought the same."  Jungkook replies, unsuccessfully defending himself as he huffs in pouts in embarrassment.

"Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I have a cousin named Jimin."  I interrupt, my face lighting up in realization.

"Chaeyoungie, Chim would be hurt.  He always showered you with affection." Jin chuckles, wiping off the last tears off his eyes.

"Well, I panicked when I suddenly woke up in Jungkook's room so I may or may have not blanked out on his existence." I wince, feeling ashamed.

"How'd you end up in his room anyway?  I didn't know our maknae here kidnapped young girls of the street..." Jin teases Jungkook, "although I don't blame you, Chaeyoung is beautiful." he adds in quietly.

"Um-" I stammer, trying to come up with an answer.

"I found her unconscious on a bench when I was jogging in the park." Jungkook quickly interrupts, easily lying to Jin.

I make a mental note to thank him later, "Y-yeah, that's what happened.  I remember now." I throw a small smile towards Jungkook's direction, grateful.  Jungkook nods his head in response.

Jin raises his eyebrows at our interaction, but does not ask any other further questions.  "Okay..." he draws out, standing up from his chair, "Well, I'm going to get going now."  He winks at Jungkook and I suggestively, "enjoy your date."

I blush in embarrassment.
