Chapter 7: Divine Teacher

Priscilla PoV

We returned back home and my dad calls my mom to the parlor and then orders the servants to give the three of us some privacy. My mom quite lost hesitantly allows dad to do this and follows his lead, we then sit on the couches with a seemingly tense and serious atmosphere.

My dad then begins to narrow  down what the examiners tell him.

To sum it all up, I have only one magical affinity. And that affinity is said to be the stuff of legends. And that magic affinity as one may have guessed it is [Portal]. Portal magic is said to be quite an enigma. Due to the fact that the only records of it are mere mentions and hypotheses from the South Vargayan people who low key respect and to some little extent even venerate him as a deity who brings people from other worlds to  help in the development  of their state.

"Dad is this for real?" I ask.

"I'm afraid so, but to think our Priscilla would be bestowed this enigma of a power." Dad says in awe.

"Priscilla my dear...."  Mom says in confusion. I sort of get why this situations is as it seems. It is a big and questionable enigma. A daunting scene and reaction when facing the unknown.

Dad continues to explain that, despite its ambiguous nature it is certainly without a doubt a big change and addition to this kingdom.

"Priscilla now that you have this power you need to be weary of the people around you. As those in history and myths the world is not all sunshine and rainbows and from behind the light lies the darkness."

I look at mom in curiosity who only nodded in agreement with my father.I have an idea what dad is about to say but to think the situation would be like this.

"Priscilla there will come a time where people will use these powers of yours. Though it is not really known what it is as of yet, as time goes by answers will become clear and in the end people will know of the extent of your powers, even you. That is why please be weary and be on edge.  Since people may use you and your powers, some may use it for good, some for more nefarious and more twisted means. So do be on guard my dear daughter." He says firmly.

My mom approaches me and hugs me. "Dear if you have troubles please come and listen to me. She says with a smile and then guides me to the dining room with dad. While eating dad tells me that two days from now the a royal court mage from the castle will be teaching me how to use my magic and observing me in how I use it.

To be honest I wanna retort since suddenly having a new tutor in magic out of the blue will be a new experience for me.

Two days later early in the morning the royal court mage came and let me cut to the chase, basic principles aside I have had no progress in my Portal Magic. I was taught basic body enhancement magic which helps me in defending and fighting, and as well as the basics of magic control and about an hour or so I got the gist of the basics. Though initially in the game Priscilla never did learn any magic including the easily accessible body enhancement magic, now due to me getting[Portal Magic] and possibly the presence of my dad things are a whole lot different.

"Miss Priscilla try it again, focus your magic on the apple and try to get it warp....." He says in a dazed manner. Clearly despite him being a court Mage he clearly has no idea wha to do. And it's not like I can blame him, I mean how do you teach something that is supposedly a legend and a mythic magic about two days ago today.

I tried to concentrate and let my magic out but all of that lead us to nowhere and after consuming the whole morning we finally decided to stop.

"I'm really sorry I can't help you with your magic as of yet miss Priscilla" The Royal court Mage says while bowing.
