"So," I began while driving down the curvy mountain, "you say you found me in the woods. Did you see anyone else?"

"No, I did not see anyone else. You were dying though, and I couldn't allow that to happen."

"Why didn't you just call the hospital?"

"Well, you were in my forest," his forest? Does he own all of this? "And I am a certified doctor. Besides, the hospital is two hours away. You wouldn't have lasted."

"You're a Doctor?" He seemed a bit young for being such a thing.

"Yes, well, not anymore,"

It felt like he was going to say more, at least like he wanted to say more but held himself back from doing so.

"Have you lived here your whole life?" I asked.

"Yes, I inherited the castle from my grandfather."

"How long has the castle been in your family?"

"My grandfather built it around the 1470s." He must mean a very great grandfather.

"If it's a castle, are you some sort of prince?" I couldn't help but ask. I was beginning to really like the man's accent and his fairytale life.

Count gave a soft chuckle before answering. "Of sorts. My family comes from a long decent of Transylvania rulers. But in the Medieval times it was more like we were rulers of just this small village you see below us."

I looked out the window and Count was right.

"Wait, Count isn't your name, it's your title. What is your name?" Why would he tell me to call him Count?

"Alexandru. Or, at least, that is what my mother used to call me."

"What name were you called by everyone else?" A dark expression came over Alexandru's face.

"Dracul."

Dracul? "Like Dracula?" That's a bit strange to call a kid that.

"That is my surname."

Whoah, this guy could be related to Vlad the Impaler. The one who got the nickname Dracula.

"You wouldn't be related to Vlad III by any chance?" Alexandru turned his head slightly, and a smile curled up on his lips.

I didn't know Vlad had any kids. Maybe Alexandru's bloodline is a scandal.

"What is your name?" Alexandru asked, making me come out of my thoughts. But he only threw me into more. He doesn't know my name...

"Maggy."

"Maggy what?"

I wasn't sure if I should tell him my name. Not that I was embarrassed of it, just that I wondered why he was curious.

"Why do you want to know?" I asked.

"Well, I would like to be a little more formal and respectful by calling you by your maiden name."

My heart kind of fluttered at his notion. You don't find guys like him in America. More like books.

"May,"

"Maggy May." He said slowly. And he made it roll right off his tongue perfectly in his Romanian accent.

"Funny story actually, my full name is Maggy Maryland May. I don't usually get embarrassed by it. My parents named me Maggy after my great grandmother and Maryland after my great great grandmother. And that was only on my mom's side of the family. I kind of think it's unique in a way. I don't have very many friends, so it's not like I get teased for it. My grandparents would call me m&m&m you know, to make fun of me and tie my name to the candy. Do you guys have m&m's here in Romania? I don't know much about this country. I guess if you're going to go somewhere you should learn a little more about it. Do you think my name is strange? If you live in the United States people tend to think it strange for parents to call their kids after states. I don't know if you knew that, Maryland is a state in the east. Have you ever been to the United States? I don't know if you would like it very much, people there aren't as courteous as people here." I realized that I'd been blabbering.

I turned red and apologized.

"No, no," Alexandru tried to reassure me. "I like it when people talk. And your name is very pretty. And yes, I have been to the United States of America. And actually, I've been to Maryland as well."

"No kidding."

"I used to be an investigator in the United States. And Baltimore, Maryland was one of the spots of an interrogation." That sounds like an awesome story. But I should probably stop asking him any questions. Maybe he didn't try to do anything bad to me. He seems like a very nice man. Although, he still just doesn't fit in. Why does he dress like that? Why does he drive such an old car? Why does he live in a castle all alone? What a strange man. It's as if he's stuck in time.
