Cabin Adventures - @Jadewritesastory POV
I heard the bathroom door open.
“Oh, come on guys. Just leave it.”
Shelly was cowering under the blankets while I had my head under mine. It was just past midnight on Saturday night. We were at my farm, in this little one room cabin. Susan and Luce had just gone into to play the rather overrated game of ‘Bloody Mary.’ I wasn’t freaked out, but these two are the only teenagers that I know that don’t savour their sleep. Shelly was whimpering under the covers with her green and fuzzy poncho on. Susan and Luce had been bothering us all afternoon to play supernatural games. I didn’t believe in them, but seriously, not going there.
The bathroom door closed lightly. Idiots. They were literally unshakable though. I, myself, love creepy pastas, and so does Shelly. But taking part in creepy games is just asking for no sleep.
“Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary.” Came echoing out of the bathroom. I felt Shelly delve further into the covers. We had pushed our bed together being the two that had no interest in horror games or no sleep. Luce and Susan came out laughing at the stupidity of the game. Well, they weren’t the ones next to the bathroom door. Shelly peeked out from under her covers, before hurriedly covering her head again. They had been begging and bothering us all afternoon, trying to get us to play ‘The Thumb game’ and other creepiness. I refused and so did Shelly. Since it was a three or more person game, we had held of the nightmare for now. They didn’t even think it would work. Why did they even do it if they thought that? Why would they get out of their warm and snuggly bed to play a ten-second game that they didn’t even think would work? LOGIC PEOPLE.
The next morning I was awoken by the loud laughter of Luce and Susan. I checked my watch, 7:00. Are you serious!!! It’s the weekend! This is even before the time I get up for school! Urgh. There goes my dream of a sleep in.
“Hey Jade.” Susan said. I ignored her.
“Jade”
There was a pause.
“Jade, Jade, Jade, Jade.”
I hid my head under the covers with a groan.
“JADE!”
“What?” I sat up abruptly.
“Can you make me some tea?”
My jaw dropped. Did she think I was her slave? Ok, I could be a nice friend and leave my beautiful, snuggly, warm, comfortable bed to brave the icy air and freezing floor to do the generous thing, but no. Not happening.
“What am I? Your slave?”
She smirked.
“Yup.”
I sighed a laid back down, getting out my iPod to read on Wattpad.
“Ask Luce.”
A muffled “Nope” came from under the covers next to Susan.
Susan sighed, getting out her own book and giving up on the idea of tea.
A while later, I did end up getting up and making Susan tea. Did I have to do everything around here? I got out the pancake and started to attempt to make pancakes and Shelly got out of bed and helped me.
Note to self= Shelly+Jade+Pancake mix= Burnt pan and no pancakes of any form.
Luce got out and attempted to make some as well, and she managed to get a slightly burnt pancake mush from it. We quickly gave up on that idea and settled for chocolate and croissants, with in-bed service for Susan of course. We started to clean up, kind of. Shelly washed, I dried, Susan eventually got up and made the beds and Luce dubbed herself the ‘fire watcher’ as we had gotten a fire going in the fireplace. Unfortunately, it seemed to produce more smoke that warmth. We decided to chill around and read for the rest of the morning, which was very satisfactory and with the seemingly endless supply of music from Shelly’s iPad and much reading material, it was very fun.
