Chapter Nineteen - House a Home

"Stefan, Clara needs changing." I call trying to calm down Florence. Stefan came over and picked up a wailing Clara.

"Come on, sweetie."He left and I tried calm down my daughter.

"Okay you've been fed and changed, burped. You have skin to skin. Why did I ever think that you would be like your brothers." I sigh

"Alright, Clara is asleep."

"How I've been trying for an hour to settle down. What are you doing that I am not."

"You're tired let me." He took Florence and she started calming down. "You need to sleep, you need to feed and you need to get out, a distraction. Even if it's for a day or so. For the next two days you're on minimal Mommy duty ."

"But Stefan."

"No buts'. Now wash and go get some sleep. Everything will be fine when you wake up." he shooed me off to the bathroom when I washed and changed before falling asleep in our bed. I had no idea how long I was out but when I woke up I felt much better. I looked around the room and thought I was still dreaming. Not a thing out of place, this room was covered in clothes and toys and all manner of stuff.

"Stefan?" I asked

"Down here." I heard him from downstairs I got up and walked out of my room. I wasn't tripping over toys or dirty laundry or unpacked boxes. Pictures aligned the walls of family and friends in ways that I planned. It was clean and tidy. In order, walking into the front room the boys were at their own little table drawing while Stefan was talking with Damon and Elena. Florence and Clara were asleep in their mosses baskets.

"Oh, I see utter confusion." Damon smirked

"How long have I been out?"

"12 hours of deep un interrupted sleep." Stefan smiles standing up and giving me a kiss

"Are you sure?"

"Why?"

"Stefan our house is a home. You're trying to tell me that it all the time I've been asleep pictures found their way onto walls, boxes unpacked themselves, laundry dealt with and me not woke up a single time.

"You were really tired." Elena laughed

"While you were sleeping everyone chipped in to tidy the place up, everything you were wanting done before the girls arrived is done not a box out of place. Fridge is freshly stocked the kids are fed watered and changed. You are looking a lot better."

"You did all this."

"Well you were all yucky and stressed, having a bad everything day." Damon smirked and I flipped him the bird

"Yes and tomorrow us girls are having a retail therapy day. The men are paying for everything" Elena told me

"Oh-Okay." Elena and Damon stood up.

"We'll be going then." I nodded absent minded looking around at the cosy home that wasn't there when I fell asleep.

"Do you like it?" Stefan wondered wrapping his arms around me.

"Baring in mind you did that while I sleep soundly you had two sets of twins and nearly 15 people possible more in my house with me none the wiser. Yes, I love it."

"Good. Boys." They looked up and came running over. They started telling everything that I missed. I looked around and saw that it was as I had asked when we were moving in and my plans that I had made. Florence started crying and I picked her up

"It's okay. I know it looks different. But you will get used to it. At least it better than it was. You have your daddy to thank you for that." She calmed down and went back to sleep.

"I have been running myself ragged trying to be super mom, when I have all your Aunts and Uncles, Daddy and brothers to help me. So we are going to do just fine ."

"Yes, we are." I looked up at Stefan and smiled. Everything was right in our own world. I loved it.

 I loved it
