Chapter 7

The next day...

Kara, Nova and Alex walked into school together. Alex went to her friends and Nova hurried off as soon as they got in. Kara looked around for any sign of Mike. She couldn't find him. She made her way to her locker, and fumbled with the lock. It finally opened and Kara pulled out some books. She heard her phone chime and checked to see who it was. Mike! He texted her.

M - Hey, so the teachers found out about the fight and Danny and I got suspended. But don't worry, we're still on for Saturday.

K - That sucks! I guess I'll see you tomorrow then.

He replied with two smiley faces. Kara smiled. Then the bell rang and Kara slammed her locker shut and scurried down the hallway.

The last bell finally rang and Kara sprung out of her seat. She made her way outside and when she was out she sat on a bench and went through her phone. She couldn't help but check if Mike had texted her. He didn't, but she still couldn't wait for tomorrow.

Kara spotted Nova and called her over. Nova sat down on the bench beside her. They talked until they found Alex, they all started walking home together. When they got there Kara went to her room and turned on her laptop. She started transferring pictures from her camera to her laptop so that she wouldn't have to do it tomorrow. While she was transferring them, she came across the photo she took of Mike smirking at her.

She felt butterflies in her stomach as she looked at his features. His icy grey eyes, his slicked back hair, his smirk. His whole figure was just, handsome. She longed to see him in person again. She closed her computer and put her head in her hands. Why did she feel this way? She hasn't known this guy for a week and it seems like she's head over heels.

She jerked up as she heard her phone go off. She picked it up.

"Kara." She said

"Hey K!" A familiar voice said.

"Mike!" Kara exclaimed,

"Hi" He chuckled.

Oh Rao she loved that laugh. "Well what did you do all day?" Kara inquired.

"Well I watched TV, had some pizza, played games..."

"Ugh. I'm jelous!" Kara leaned back in her chair.

They talked for almost 2 hours. Getting to know each other, laughing, some moments they just sat in silence smiling until one of them said something dumb to break the silence. But eventually they had to hang up.

"Parting is such sweet sorrow" Mike chimed.

"That I shall say goodnight until it be morrrow" Kara recited. They both laughed, "I didn't know you read Shakespeare."

"Yeah, I guess I'm a softy for poetry." Mike sighed.

"Wow. The Captain of the football team is a softy!" Kara joked.

"Yeah, yeah"

"Honestly though, I like it." Kara heard Alex call her, "I have to go"

"Hey, text me later tonight. Okay?"
