I look at him in bewilderment, "You just closed the door on your mom," I gulp.

"Yeah, I know, she was making you uncomfortable," he shrugs. I cross my arms.

"Since when did you care about me?" I ask.

"I don't, I'm just being 'nice,'" he uses air quota on nice mocking me and I pout. Ass. "Don't you want to change out of those rags?" he gestures towards my servant uniform.

"Yes, please," I nod. He hands me a shirt that I am almost one-hundred percent sure is his and a pair of skinny jeans. I take clothes from him. I look at him and clear my throat. I am NOT going to change in front of him. He rolls his eyes and turns around.

"I am not going to change with you in the room!"  I scoff.

"Well you're not changing without me in the room," he says.

"Why not!" I demand. He still doesn't face me.

"Because, servant, I said so," he hisses. I clench my fists. "My name is Aiyana!" I snap at him. Another eye roll.

"Whatever, are you going to change or not?" he asks, obviously bored with this conversation.

"Perv," I scoff before slipping off my torn dress and I pull his grey shirt over my head and it goes down to my butt. His scent is oddly familiar and smells like home for some reason. I put on the pair of skinny jeans.  "You can turn around now," I tell him. He does and his eyes scan over my figure. He smirks when he sees me in his shirt.

"I'm surprised you didn't complain about the clothes I gave you," he teases and I send him a harsh glare. Ass.

"I may seem rude, but I assure you I'm grateful," I bow respectfully towards him. He may be an ass, but he is the King's son and I have to respect him whether I like it or not. He cringes at this action.

"Do not bow to me, I'm not my father and you're supposed to be my equal, I'm not your superior," he orders. I just nod in response. Not my superior my ass, if anything you're basically the King and I'm a piece of dirt you can just kick around. I think bitterly. We're anything but equals. His eyes dart to me as I finish that thought.

"Yeah right, whether I am your fiancee or not, you will always be superior," I growl.

"And why is that?" he grits his teeth. I don't answer him. "Because I'm not like you? Because I'm not human? Because I have powers?" He slams his fist on the wall beside him, making a dent. "Tell me why Aiyana! Is it because I scare you?" I freeze. I don't remember ever saying anything about being scared of him out loud. Is it that obvious? I feel my body shudder with fear letting it show. As of this moment, I am terrified. His gaze softens and he sighs, "I didn't mean to yell."

He says he's not like his father but I beg to differ, what he just did is very much like his father. He begins to walk towards me but I back away.

"Just stay away," I move to the farthest place away from him in this huge room. He takes another step forward his previous emotion gone.

"Aiyana," he begins, "Calm down." His eyes once again lock on mine and I'm trapped in place, like before. Is this one of his powers? He makes his way towards me and I do nothing to stop him. Well, there's nothing I can do to stop him. He stops right in front of me. "I am your equal," he states clearly. Okay, now I am very confused. Why is he so hellbent on me seeing myself as his equal. Does he pity me and want to make me feel better? Or does he feel as if he is lesser than me and wants me to see him as my equal?
