Aiyana
Huh? Where am I?
"You lay a hand on her and you're dead," a familiar voice growled. Ace! I jerk my head in the direction of his voice. Ace. Was being held by the throat by an unfamiliar man. No!
"No you're dead," the man grins and I watch him snap Ace's neck.
"Ace!" I scream. No no no no no!
Ace
I watch her thrash in her sleep. I grab her arms. She's having a nightmare.
"Ace!" cries out, "Ace!"
"Hey, hey, hey, I'm right here Aiyana, I'm right here," I say. She still thrashes about with her eyes squeezed shut.
"You monster! You killed Ace!" she screams. Wait, she's dreaming about me? Focus Ace! That's not the point! I get on the bed and shake her awake.
"Aiyana I'm fine!" I yell. Her eyes shoot open and she looks at me terror in her eyes. "It's okay," I wrap my arms around her. She breaks out into sobs and buries her face in my chest. "Shh, I got you, I'm here and I'm not going anywhere," I run my fingers through her hair trying to calm her down. Her sobs subside and she looks at me.
"You were dead, I watched you die," she croaks. I cupped her face.
"It was just a dream Aiyana, I'm okay, I'm okay," I reassure her. She sighs in relief and buries her head in the crook of my neck.
"Is it morning yet?" she asks. I look at the clock on the end table. It read: 12:30 AM. I shake my head and she whimpers.
"If you'd like I'll sleep with you," I offer. She nods her head vigorously. She scoots over and I lay down on the bed next to her. Before I even get the chance to pull her to my chest she scoots as close as possible to me and looks into my eyes.
"I woke in this weird room and I heard your voice-" I cut her off.
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to," I tell her. She shakes her head.
"That's the thing Ace I want to tell you," she continues, "I heard your voice and you threatened someone if they were to land hand on me," Sounds like me, "and he snapped your neck Ace, I watched it, I thought for sure you were dead, I'm so glad it was just a dream, " she nuzzles me. I-I had no idea she cared for me.
"Well, I assure you it takes more than snapping my neck to kill me, no need for the tears," I smile and wipe her new shedding tears away with my thumb. "I'm okay Aiyana really," I promise her. She takes a breath and nods before snuggling up to me. I wrap my arms around her waist.
He's okay. He's here holding me. He says everything's gonna be okay, then everything is going to be okay.
I smile at her thoughts. She sure is strange. At first, she hated my guts and within three days, she's now worried about me. Though it's not uncommon, the person the Angel is supposed to guard usually becomes good friends with their guardian within a day. But, due to her distrust and her still wanting to escape it took longer. I'm gonna have to talk to her about that. Her plan for escape because now she planning to take me with her. She smiles and closes her eyes and I close mine. Even though I usually stay up to watch, I feel the need to fall asleep with her.
Aiyana
I feel better now, safe. But I shouldn't! I shouldn't get close to him, but I can't help it. He's sweet. He's protective of me. For that, I am forever grateful. But I might have to talk to him about the voice I've been hearing. She sure is strange was the last one from the voice I heard. It started ever since I woke up. I'm scared, I might be going crazy. I have to tell Ace. I know him, he'll understand.
