I wake up in a warm bed. Wait, a bed? Since when did I have a-oh. Memories of the previous day enter my mind. Ace? Where is Ace? As if on cue I hear his voice.

"Morning, Aiyana," his raspy morning voice greets me. I look next to me to see Ace up already and watching me. Which I have to admit is kinda creepy. How long has he been up?

"Ace? What time is it?" I yawn and sit up, stretching.

"10 a.m.,"  he says and I shoot up.

"10 a.m.! I have to get to work, I have to-"

Ace's chuckle interrupts my rambling, "You don't have to do anything. You don't have work as my fiancee. Now go get dressed, my mother picked out some clothes for you, they're in the bathroom," he informs me. I get up and Ace begins to leave.

"Where are you going?" I ask. He smiles gently at me.

"Out," He leaves shutting the door behind him leaving me confused before popping his head back in. "Oh and Happy Birthday, Aiyana." And then he's gone.

Birthday? It's been years since I've celebrated my birthday that I didn't even realize I had one until now. But how did he know it was my birthday if I never told anyone? Oh well, I probably shouldn't question it, they are supernatural and probably have a lot of sources to get this information, though I still am a bit confused on how. I shrug it off and decide to go to the bathroom and get dressed like he told me to. In the bathroom, a royal blue dress with a lace pattern sits on the bathroom counter. Ace! I hate dresses, bad enough my servant uniform was one. I sigh and put it on and look in the mirror disregarding whatever was under it. It goes down just above my knees and is short-sleeved. I look beautiful. I look to where I found the dress to see a note, it read:

     Dear Aiyana,

I believe you would look stunning in this dress and since it is your birthday you deserve to look so. My son also agreed with my choice. I am quite happy you are his chosen suitor, you are a great girl. Anyway, my son did request you get to wear comfortable shoes so I have chosen a pair I think you would like, they are on the floor by the sink, most likely right by your feet, I imagine. Hope you have a wonderful birthday.

     -Your soon to be mother-in-law

Again how does she know it's my birthday?

Soon to be mother-in-law made me want to throw up. I can't imagine having her as a mother-in-law. I have to get out of here before that happens. I look at the floor and sure enough, plain black high tops are there along with a clean pair of socks. Awesome! I quickly put them on. I look at my self in the mirror once again. It is to hard to believe that who I'm looking is really me. Now, what do I do? All I was told to do was get dress and I have finished that task, so what now? And where is Ace?

A small knock comes to the door and I am hesitant to answer it.

"Miss, the Prince would like to see you now, I will escort you to his location," a kind female voice says. I open the door to see a fellow servant. A servant I know.

"Emily," I exclaim hugging my old friend and she stiffens. I pull away, "What's wrong?" I ask.

"Miss, if you will, please follow me," she begins to walk away completely ignore my concerns. I frown hurt, but nonetheless, I follow her. She leads me to, two large double doors and once again they open as if they knew we would be here at this exact moment.  The door open and I see a table already set and--pancakes? I don't remember much from the last time I had pancakes, but I do remember they were delicious.

Ace stands near the table conversing with other servants and it seems as my friend Emily has disappeared. Ace laughs at something the servant said making me smile. I am glad he is friendly with the servant. I have to hand it to him. His father would never do something like his son is doing right now. Even if I plan to escape here it's nice for some reason to see him happy. What are you thinking, Aiyana! He catches me in the corner of his eyes and cuts off his conversation with the servant after apologizing before making his way to me. He eyes scan over my figure.

"Aiyana," he bows surprising me a bit. Since when does a noble bow to a peasant? I laugh at his gesture.

"Now what did we say about being equal?" I tease.

"Right, anyway, you look magnificent," he compliments looking over my figure once again. I feel my cheeks heat up. Did he just--no he's probably saying that for show. I mean we are surrounded by a bunch of people after all. "I mean it," he uses a finger to tilt my head up to look at him.

"T-thank you, P-prince A-ace," I bow to hide my blush.

"Now what did we say about being equal Aiyana?" he mocks me. I bite the inside of my cheek.

"I was just thanking you," I mumble and he smiles.

"Of course, please take a seat before your food gets cold," he gestures to the table. I look at him with wide eyes.

"This is for me?" I point to myself shocked.

He chuckles, "It's your birthday correct?"

      "Yes but-"

"Then you deserve a proper breakfast, now come on," he offers me his hand. I look at it still stunned but take it moment later.

Is this really the Prince? Is this really Ace? Kind and sweet?

He takes me to the table and pulls the chair out for me, his hand slipping from mine. I sit down and look at the food in front of me. I am astonished. Yesterday he was being a prick and today he's being gentle and kind--how?

"Now eat," he orders. The pancakes look and smell delicious. I look at Ace.

"Wait are you going to eat?" I ask. He smiles at me.

"No this is just for you," he replies patting my head. Am I even sure this is Ace? He's not acting like Ace? At least, he isn't acting like the Ace I know.  I send him a grateful smile before digging in.

"These are heavenly!" I exclaim, scarfing them down. He chuckles.

"I'm glad you like it, I made them myself," he says proudly. I giggle.

"Well you are an amazing cook," I compliment. He tenses up and looks at me with wonder in his eyes.

"Really?" he tilts his head a bit to the right. I grin and nod vigorously.

"Yeah! These are the best pancakes I've ever had!" I assure him. He looks happy and I finish my food. Servants clear the table and I recognize most of them. I try to say hi but they all avoid me. I frown. This is because I'm his fiancee, isn't it. I clench my fist. Why did they have to choose me?
