Zoe Lopez

I walked into the meeting room to be greeted by four boys. I was the first person getting interviewed. One had on a pokemon shirt, one had a cup of Starbucks, one had a beanie on, and one had a snapback on.

"Hello." I said, flashing a smile.

"Hello. What's your name?" The boy with the coffee asked me.

"Zoe." I replied.

"Well Zoe, what are your interests?" The guy with the pokemon shirt asked me.

"Well, I like to read. My friend brings me books every week to read. I watch some YouTube because of my up to date friend. Some YouTubers such as Smosh, the Fab 5, Tyler Oakley, Troye Sivan, Andrea Russet, and after this my friend is showing me this collab group I guess, O2L I think it is, and the Fine Bros. My friend is also teaching me how to do tricks on my penny board and I really like it." I said. "And how could I forget about coffee!? Occasionally my friend sneaks me some Starbucks."

"I like her!" The boy with the coffee said, causing me to laugh.

"Could you bring the next person in please." The boy with the beanie asked me.

"Of course. Have a great day!" I said smiling and walking out of the room.

I told Ms. Lever that I was done and she sent in the next girl. I ran upstairs, mentally thanking Eva for bringing my penny board back upstairs. I opened up my door and saw her basically ripping her hair out.

"What's happening?" I asked.

"The damn internet won't work!" She yelled, frustrated.

''Did you try typing in the password for the kids?" I asked.

Her cheeks flushed a deep red as she realized her mistake. She typed in the password, which was my name and then a pin, so the password was zoe3042. She then went onto YouTube and typed in the Fine Bros. There was a Teens React that was fairly new. It was labeled Teens React to the Fault In Our Stars.

"I WAS CRYING." I stated.

"It gives you the feels." She said, clicking on it.

It showed teens and a commercial came on. I immediately took the computer and paused it, turning to look at Eva.

"IT IS A MOVIE?" I shrieked.

"Yea, and we're seeing it together! June 5th cause we are going to the midnight premiere so I guess June 6th. Whatever." She said.

"YAY! We have to get shirts and pre-order our tickets and re-read the book again and..." I was cut off with a pain in my cheek.

"Get it together!'' Eva said to me, snapping me back to reality. "Now let's watch."

We watched the teens reacting and I was freaking out with them. I was so excited for this movie. Eva and I were so focused on the reactions that we didn't even notice someone come into the room until we heard a voice.

"Zoe. You're getting adopted." Ms. Lever said after I was done freaking out.

"You're funny. So what are you really here for?" I asked.

"I'm not kidding Zoe. They thought that you would work well since they said, and I quote, she seems chill." She said, causing me to laugh.

"Well what am I supposed to do? I can't leave Eva! She is my bae!" I said, now close to tears. "We were supposed to see TFIOS together!"

"I'm sorry sweetie." She said, going towards the door. "Please pack."

With that, she walked out of the room. I let the tears out and cried into Eva's shoulder. I quicky sucked it up and packed up my bag, going slow. I heard a knock on the door and I opened it to reveal the four boys. I turned around and kept packing until I felt Eva hit my shoulder.

"What?" I asked, annoyed.

"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?" She yelled out.

''Tell you what?" I asked confused.

"That O2L adopted you!" She said excitedly.

"So? And I didn't realize! All I got to see was fetus pictures of them because of the internet." I growled.

"Calm down bae. They live near, right?" She aimed that towards the boys.

"We are about fourty minutes away." Pokemon shirt said.

Eva stayed quiet, now silently crying. As soon as everything was packed in my room, I fell into Eva's arms, sobbing. I couldn't help it, I was gonna miss her so much. She pulled out of my arms and wiped her eyes, me doing the same. She pulled out a piece of paper and wrote down her number, giving me a sad smile.

"Hit me up." She joked, handing me the paper, causing me to laugh.

"K babe." I said, causing Eva to laugh even harder, causing me to laugh harder too.

What can I say, laughing is contagious! I gave her one more hug before grabbing my suitcase, quicky checking to make sure I had the three numbers now along with the letter from Tyler. I had my penny board in hand, my suitcase in the other. The guys were being silent, which is really kinda scaring me. Eva walked me down to the main part where I then walked out of the doors, until I remembered something.

"My medicine!" I remembered, looking at Eva.

"Oh shit. C'mon." She called.

"I've got it." The one with the snapback said.

"Ok. Thanks." I said, smiling at him. "And watch your bloody language!" I directed that towards Eva.

"Well remember the time when you thought you would be fine for a day? You looked like you got stabbed fifty times by the end of the day! You legit looked like you were gonna die." She said, trying not to laugh at the memory.

"I'm gonna miss seeing my meanie head know it all best friend." I said, tears threatening to spill over again.

"Well what can I say? One last time?" She asked me as the boys put my stuff in the trunk.

"Hug me brotha!" I yelled out, jumping into her arms after catching on to what she was saying.

It was easier for her to pick me up so we always did it like that. It was our special thing that we loved to do. I got out of Eva's arms and hugged her one last time before opening the car door to the waiting boys.

"I will most definitely be hitting you up. Bye." I said, getting into the car.

I buckled my seatbelt and felt the car moving. I just pulled my knees up to my chest and placed my head to where it was resting on my knees. I don't know anything about these boys. All I know is that I'll be fourty minutes away from my best friend. Who knows though, maybe my life will turn around.
