This document is to be read by all staff, as SCP-963-131 wanders the facility freely and is fully capable of causing harm at any time.
SCP-963-131
"Parasite"Object Class: Thaumiel
(Impending & unrelenting; soon to breach for good. It can only be stalled.)Special Containment Procedures: SCP-963-131 is not to leave the Foundation site at any costs. If such an event happens or similar, see below.
SCP-962-131 may never, under any circumstances, visit any SCPs in the 001 family. While it has an uncanny ability to slip past guards and enter any Object Class Wing it desires, tight security must by at the entrance to the 001 hall. It may only visit other SCPs if said SCP agrees as well as the wing leader.
Should SCP-963-131's host die or 963-131 itself leave the host, full lockdown required. Contain and terminate 963-131 as sight, as it posses a threat to the Foundation, SCPs, and the population surrounding the foundation. It is unknown the lengths 963-131 will go to survive, and the Foundation is not about to find out.
If 963-131 is contained as the host dies, than it should be immediately kept away from any temporary host for at minimum one week or until it is contained. Notable candidates for this are any and all skeletal SCPs, not including Death and Seraphim. Immortality would be the most reasonable choice as 963-131's new host, but X-Event is also a powerful choice if 963-131 can control its abilities.
During the case of 963-131 escaping in search of a new host, immediately put all SCPs in full lockdown, skeletal or not. All of them could be an easy target given the amount of stress 963-131 is under. Note that certain SCPs may be used to guard/protect other SCPs. Death will, reasonably, not let anything touch Immortality. 682 may be placed in X-Event's chamber if this event occurs.
Despite this, SCP-963-131 is allowed to wander around the facility at will for undisclosed reasons. It is allowed to enter observation rooms at will, minus those in any 001 chamber.
Description: SCP-963-131 is a small, purple four-limbed parasite about 9 inches in diameter. Is it about the body type of the typical starfish and has small, nearly microscopic claws on the end of each arm used for gripping a hard, solid surface.
On its underside, it has a circular mouth similar to that of octopi. On its top in the center of the limbs, taking up the space of its entire torso, is a large eye. The socket is rimmed with white, sharp but flat tooth-like protrusions that have an unknown function. The eye's sclera is black as well as the pupil. The iris is thin and is a flat shade of bright yellow, while the pupil has a thin ring of red around it. Due to how the eye is positioned on 963-131's body, it can fully view everything in front of it directly.
SCP-963-131 refers to the parasite itself, while the host is not considered an SCP but simply a skeletal being that has long since gone brain-dead. 963-131 attaches itself to the host's soul and drains its energy slowly over a long period of time, which is how it feeds.
It has been in the same host for as long as the Foundation has kept it. The host itself is a 5'9 tall skeleton with the same anatomy as most other skeletal SCPs. It is considered dead, as it cannot speak, move for itself, yet it can think. Scans have shown that the host can indeed think and feel pain, but 963-131 has simply pushed its mind and conscious 'into a corner' to prevent it from regaining control.
963-131, in its host, prefers to dress in over-exaggerated clothing from the 1970-1990's that is normally neon bright and generally strange and painful to look directly at. It commonly wears black shades that read 'YOLO' or other four-letter acronyms. that are useless for sight, and are only worn to hide its eye sockets. The left eye socket has the host's soul visibly.
As of now, the soul is heavily cracked and close to breaking completely. 963-131 is aware of this and has slowly gone from happy and calm to tense and alert in its time in the Foundation. 963-131 noticeably feels more vulnerable as time goes on, and is currently alert on staying away from direct harm.
In recent months, 963-131's eye sockets have begun to leak a gaseous purple substance that is pure energy similar to plasma. 963-131 calls this 'residual magic'. This substance will flare into a fire-like material if 963-131 is angered or agitated.
SCP-963-131 is typically friendly upon first meetings, but will gradually show a dark sense of humor and a clear knowing more than it tells. It often speaks in overly-exaggerated 'lingo' from the late 1900's. This consists of terms such as 'rad/radical', 'bro/broski', 'cool', 'uncool', 'unrad', and saying out loud the letters of an acronym. It will keep a careful watch on what everyone around it does and says, often storing any information it hears for later use.
963-131 has stated that it doesn't like to cause harm, but that it can and will kill if needed.
-Only O5 Command may read and/or recite the following information at will-
963-131 will be called by its file name, Parasite, from here on out.
Parasite is immune to any Amnestic we give it. The Foundation has tried a total of 131 tests to make Parasite forget everything before its capture. No more tests have been executed for two reasons: it was simply draining resources, and the realization that Parasite knew more than it let on.
Since Parasite cannot forget or be forced to forget, it is constantly posing a threat to the Foundation and surrounding civilians.
History: Parasite started out as acting innocent and clueless as to what was happening, but made no efforts to hide its memory. During the first months of containment, Parasite swore upon more 'arrivals'. So far, all 'help' it has promised have never come. Parasite is by far the last of the SCPs that have arrived, not counting the later discovery that SCP-███ was the same as SCP-███
Past the faze of promising 'help' to arrive, Parasite found comfort in acting overly happy and energetic. Psychological tests have shown that this is the point in Parasite's life that depression started to show up. This faze acted for almost 15 months.
In recent months, Parasite has shown signs of beginning to mentally break. This started to happen when Parasite was exposed to the 001 family properly via his own works of hacking, and exposure to. It would break out in loud, uncontrollable laughter and has started to harm or torment other SCPs and staff for its own amusement. This was the reason the document "The Things Fresh is not Allowed to do" was created. As of now, Parasite is close to being clinically insane.
In recent weeks, Parasite has taken up the task of becoming noticeably active during certain hours. It is unknown what Parasite does in this time, and the Foundation will soon have to confront it about this. During these times, Parasite effectively dodges cameras with uncanny skill and strays around the areas where food for the SCPs are prepared. This, of course, has raised suspicion.
The Foundation is also working on an immediate containment process in the unstoppable event of Parasite's host's soul breaking. Currently, using SCP-048 is the most reasonable choice as a lure to get Parasite in a vulnerable position.
