Doing it Alone: Chapter 1

“bbbbrrrrrr, here comes the airplane!” I cooed, flying a tiny spoon of bananas toward Natalie, me and Harry’s now 8month old baby girl. She giggled and took her breakfast like a pro. Just as I was about to give her another spoonful my laptop went off with a Skype call. Harry’s face blinked and I grinned, point the laptop at Nat and I and hit accept. See, harry and his friends, Niall, Louis, Liam, and Zayn eventually formed a music group... and their boy band One Direction BLEW UP almost overnight in the past few months. He was gone touring Europe at the moment, and Nat and I were home communicating by Skype and like a million tweets a day...... Shane and Minnie had their little girl... Sophia Rain..... Max was four now.. Sophia was two..... So we had our own happy families.

“DA DA!!!” Nat squealed, almost immediately as his face filled the screen.

“Natalie, baby doll, daddy misses you so much!!!” harry cooed.

“Da DA DA!!!” she said, kicking her feet, happily.

“hey baby... how are you two doing?” he asked.

“Good... she took her first steps this morning....” I said, softly.

“Oh my gosh, did you record it?!” he asked.

“Of course... i was gonna email it to you after breakfast....” I smiled.

“Oh my gosh princess! Daddy is SO proud of you!” harry swooned over the video.

“Wanna show daddy what mama taught you?!” I asked she nodded slowly.

“DA DA!!!” she said. Harry watched intently as Nat pointed to her eye, then her heart, then at the computer.

“Awwww, baby daddy loves you too!!” he said, wiping his eyes.

“Harry, when are you going to be able to come home? Even just for a little while?” I asked softly.

“Oh baby. I'm not sure. We're discussing schedules later on as soon as I know will let you know,” Harry promised. I sighed that was not exactly the answer that I was truly looking for. Nat and I were alone day in and day out while Harry was traveling all over.

“Is everything okay?” Harry asked worried.

“Yeah. Yeah,” I said.”Everything's fine,” I said as I put a smile on my face. I needed Harry to believe it would all just be okay.

“You’re lying......” he said, softly. Nat put her hands over her mouth and gasped.

“uh oh!” she said. I giggled and spooned her another mouthful.

“It’s just hard without you here... you’re missing everything...” I said.

“I know... I’m sorry.. I’m trying my hardest to figure something out...” he said, sadly.

“I know... did you see the photos from her bath yesterday that i tweeted?” I asked.

“Of the bubbles on her head?” he chuckled.

“Yup... those ones...” I smiled.

“Yup... so sweet....” he said. Being married to this man was a god sent.. and the money he was starting to send us was an amount of money I could have never imagined.....

“So how are Shane and Min doing with their little ones?” he asked.

“They are doing good. Max is getting so big! Sophia is so adorable,” I said with a smile.

Since the summer of Jennifer's wedding I had started exercising regularly and eating better and Minnie had definitely been taking care of me. Max was getting so big, Sophia was a treasure to have around and Marli was twelve years old now she was in the Sixth Grade at the middle school. This morning I was moving around the kitchen making breakfast, egg white omelettes, baked chicken and chopped fruit. Marli was sitting at the island counter before school, as I slid the plate in front of her.

“Ewwww,” she said.” It looks funny.”

“Those are egg whites.”

“But I like the yellow.”

“Daddy I want some,” Max said. He ate anything that I ate which I thought was cute. I chuckled.

"Okay bud I'll make a miniature sized one for you,” I said.

“Daddy!!!” Sophia cried, running out all ready for her day in her adorable little sundress. i insisted when we had a little girl she was to be in dresses at all times.. my little princess.. and she had me wrapped around her finger, the moment she was born. Minnie followed out shortly behind, kissing my cheek.

“Good morning...” she cooed.

“Morning, baby, hungry?” I asked.

“Yes.. famished....” she said.

“Alright scrambled for Sophia?!” I asked her.

“Yes....” she confirmed

I finished making Max's mini omelette and put that and some baked chicken cut up on his plate and fruit. I set the plate in front of him.

Then I got to scrambling Sophia's eggs in the pan.

Minnie lifted Sophia into a chair and the little muchkin kicked her feet back and forth. “Sophie hungwy,” she said.

I chuckled,” Eggs coming right up Miss Sophia,” I said.

She grinned,” Ooooo.”

There was a honk outside indicating the Marli's ride to school was here. “ I love you!” Marli said hopping down and grabbing her back pack.

“Love you too Kiddo!” I called out after her as she ran for the door.

I got Sophia served and then fixed mine and Minnie's omelettes putting them on our plates. Turning the stove off. I got everyone drinks and we were all seated there at the table.

“More Mama!” Natalie said when her bowl was getting empty. I giggled and excused myself for a moment to go into the kitchen and get her more bananas cut up. When I returned Harry was making silly faces at Nat as she giggled hysterically. I heard a knock on his side of the door.

“HEY HEY HEY! Whatcha doing?!” a voice asked, then the faces of his band mates appeared around him.

“Natalie!!!” they said.

“Uncies!!!!” she squealed, pointing at them. She was VERY close with all his band mates.

“Hey guys..” I chuckled.

“Hey Jen! How’s it shakin?!” Louis asked.

“Good good.. how’s Eleanor?” I asked.

“Good good.. getting antsy..... she misses me like crazy....” he said.

“I know the feeling...” I said, softly.

“Harry misses you and Natty like crazy. It's all we hear,” Liam offered.

“We miss him too,” I said as I was feeding Natalie.

Natalie finished chewing,”Miiisses!”

They chuckled,” We miiisses Miss Natty,” said Louis.

Natalie giggled happily she liked hearing that.

“Whatcha been up to Miss Natty?” Louis asked.

“Nannas!” she pointed to her bowl.

“Nannas?! NO carrots?!” Louis joked. Ughh him and his damn carrots... I swear he’s a damn bunny rabbit.

“Blechhhhh...” she said, making a face. The guys all laughed.

“OH! Harry we came in to tell you we got a schedule... 6 weeks here.... in Europe, Asia, Australia, then 6 weeks in the states...” Zayn said.

“6 WEEKS!!!” I cried.

“Mama wouds!!!” Nat said, covering her ears.

“Harry! Six weeks?! Are you kidding me?!” I complained.

“Baby, I’m sorry...” he said, sadly.

“Natalie, say goodbye to your father...” i said, firmly.

“Bye Dada!” Nat said, waving brightly, then did the eye, heart, pointing thing. i quickly disconnected. I was SO ANGRY!
