Doing it Alone: Chapter 2

Shane

After breakfast Minnie and I cleaned up the kitchen together. Max and Sophia were playing in the living room with their toys and watching a cartoon that I had turned on for them.

“How's Jen been doing with Harry gone?” Minnie asked gently

“She hasn't said much to me about it when we talk,” I admitted.” I'm probably going to call her up and see what she and Natty are up to. Ask them to spend the day with us.”

Minnie smiled,” That would be awesome. I can make some jambalaya.”

“Oooo yum. I am so craving some!” I said happily.

“Oh yeah?”

“Definitely. I'm always in the mood for something hot and spicy,” I said pulling her to me and nibbling on her neck.

“Shaaaaaannne!” she laughed as she tried to pull away from me. I pulled her back to me and ran my teeth along her ear.

“You Mr. West are trouble.” she said. I went to speak before I felt something bite my leg.

“OW!!!” I said, as I looked down to see Sophia glaring up at me.

“NO BITES!!!!! How yous likes it!” she said, angrily, arms folded.

　

Jennifer

“Mama.. dada!!” Natalie cried, pointing at the computer.

“Not right now baby.. he had to go...” i said. Harry tried calling Skype back so I just logged out. Then my phone began to ring.. I side barred him... then text messages. I ignored those too. I was so angry at this point I didn’t want to talk..... I seen Zayn calling thru and I answered it.

“Hello?” I asked annoyed.

“Jennifer, listen to me.....” Harry’s voice said.

“UGH! I logged off, I ignored your calls and your texts.. what part of I don’t want to talk right now don’t you get?!” I spat.

“JUST SHUT UP and listen to me for two fucking seconds,” he demanded. I had never heard him raise his voice.

“6 weeks here in Europe and all that but I have a full week here in London that you can come stay with my mum and be able to see me....... and if you had not been so stubborn and ignored me I could have told you that.....” he said, much calmer.

“What?” I asked.

“6 weeks in the US and 1 week in London. 7 weeks of time together. I know its not astronomical..but it's doable and we get to be together as a family,” he said softly.

　

　

Minnie

“Oh Sophie Hun, Daddy wasn't hurting Mama,” I said as I knelt down in front of her.

“Was toos! Yous was screaming and He was biting yous,” Sophia.

“Sweetie sometimes Mommys and Daddys play like that. We were just playing with each other. Daddy wouldn't hurt me or anyone.”

“Honest princess I would never hurt your mommy I love her,” Shane said softly.

“Biting bad!” Sophia said waving a finger in Shane's face. Oh well this was going to be interesting...clearly she wasn't going to buy the playing bit when it came to that as answer.

　

　

Jennifer

“OH Harry honey.. I’m so sorry.. I just.. panicked... I hate being away from you..” I cried.

“I know baby... and I’m sorry for that.. I miss you guys... so much...” he sniffled.

“What are you doing today?” I asked, quietly.

“Concert.... i actually have to go to rehearsal....” he said, softly.

“Oh... okay.. ummm I love you..... talk tomorrow?” I whimpered.

“Oh baby.. please... please don’t cry.....” he begged.

“I’m sorry... I can’t help it.... Maybe I’ll go spend a little time with Shane this weekend...” I said, softly.

“That would be good....” he said. We said our I Love You’s and he hung up and I got me and Nat packed to go away to Shane’s for a couple days. I got Natalie buckled into the car and then I got out stuff put in and got behind the wheel as I drove towards my brother's place.

　

　

Shane

“Sophie I wasn't trying to hurt Mommy,” I promised.

“Says yous sowwy,” Sophie demanded,” to Mama.”

I turned to Minnie,” Minnie I am so sorry for trying to bite you.”

“I”ll forgive you since you said you're sorry,” She said .

“Good,” Sophia said nodding her head. I leaned down scooping her up and found the container of Gerber's puffs.

”Pease pease,” she said seeing the puffs. I chuckled as I was taking the lid off so she could have some, I found her little bowl and put some in there and put the container away holding the bowl for her she picked one up with her little hand and put it in her mouth.

“We need to pick up a few things from the store,” I said to Minnie

“We can probably do that later,” Minnie agreed nodding her head.

“Did you need to get anything for the Jambalaya?”

“I think I needed a few things.”

“You can make a list and I'll go....” I started to say when there was the sound of our doorbell. “get the door first,” I said with a chuckle toting Sophia and her bowl to the front door. She leaned over taking another puff from the bowl putting it in her mouth to eat.

When I answered the door, my tearful sister stood there, with my little niece on her hip.

“JENY!!!” I said.

“NATIES!!!!!” Sophia said. Jen put Natalie down as she came in and she crawled after Sophia an her bowl. Jen just latched onto me.

“I miss him Shaney....” she cried.

“I know..... I know you do baby girl...” I cooed, hugging my hurt sister in my arms.

　

Harry

“Hey man.. you alright?” Louis asked me, standing next to me in rehearsal.

“No... no I’m not... I miss my family... Jen.. Natalie... I mean god.. Nat took her first steps and I wasn’t even there...... What kind of father am I?” I complained.

“The busy kind,” Louis offered.

“That sucks though..Its not fair that I am abandoning them all the time,” I said miserably.
