Doing it Alone: Chapter 10

I felt kinda silly knowing that when my purse fell my phone had somehow dialed Devon’s number.. poor guy. I chuckled when I found out what had happened. Falling asleep in my Harry’s arms that night was the best feeling in the world. I missed him desperately, and being able to smell his scent, feel his lips and arms around me again was pure heaven... I had two more days to relish in that feeling and I was panicked about going home...

I didn’t want to go home! I wanted to stay in his arms forever.. touring or at home.. we needed to stay together as a family. I had spoken to him about it that night and his management made it very clear that a international tour was too fast, too streneous for a young infant, they worried for nattie’s safety and well being. That sealed it for Harry... we were waiting till London to fly me out again, and then in the states. This seperation was gonna be far too hard for me.. I was just glad I had an amazing friend like Dev to hang out with and help me forget.

Later on that day Devon had left to run errands or something, see friends, and Minnie we up with the kids.

“Doll, we need to talk... I’m worried....” I said. The kids were playing and Minnie came over to me gently touching my cheek,” What's wrong punk?” she asked softly.

Wel“You may want to sit down for this,” I said quietly.

“Shane..it's not your heart is it?” she asked alarmed putting her hand over my heart.

I put my hand over hers,” I'm fine doll.”

“Shane.”

“Swear,” I said softly as I leaned forwards kissing her softly.” I'm great. You've taken such good care of me.”

She releaxed a little bit,” Are you sure?”

“Positive. This isn't about me.” I pulled back to look at her.

“Oh no. Marli?”

“No its about Jen...sort of.”

“I thought she was having a good time in Australia.”

“She is...but Devon is miserable.”

“How is Devon connected to Jen having a good time.”

“He's been mopey and sad and down since she took off to go visit Harry.”

“ Well why would...OH,” Minnie said .” Wow...um. He's into her.”

“I can't be sure but I think he told me he loved her yesterday. Has for a long time. He came back for her...only to find out about the engagement.”

Minnie's mouth fell open,” Poor guy,” she said softly.

“That's not the problem,” I said sadly.

“ There's more?”

“He intends to find an opportunity to make a move. I'm afraid he'll do something...or she'll let him do something. I don't know,” I sighed.

“Either way it's not gonna be pretty.”

“I agree...” I said, sadly. Devon was getting his hopes up, and even if he gets her for one night.. she’ll hate him afterwards... and herself.....
