I really like AKMU
Please read the entire chapter to understand why people are stuck in the Underground Society.

The entire group of people involved are known as the Underground Gladiators.
The people who pay for "gladiators" are the rich people who are known as "Masters" because they buy "fighters" from the arena through the process of beating a gladiator in a fight and buying them. The gladiator basically becomes that master's slave, going to fights or doing their master's bidding.
A "fighter's(Gladiator)" famous name or status marks the master's status within the hierarchy.
The Underground fights who are not owned by anyone, in particular, are given rewards similar to that of a game. If they win, they go up in rank and gain items to help their imprisonment more bearable. The better the entertainment, the better the rewards.
"Fighters" are people who are usually kidnapped and through into the arena to fight. Many of them die, but recently some have been escaping, and The Underground Gladiators can't find the leak.
The Underground Championship is the national fights for the top, stating everyone's rank and status in the hierarchy.
"Wow, it's the Lazy Warrior!" A guy shouted, pressing his face into the glass barrier, eying the woman's figure hungrily.
"You do know she's beaten up every Fighter that has challenged her, right?" A man beside the first man warned.
"I think I can beat her," the first man muttered haughtily in reply.
"I heard she beats up Masters so badly, they don't feed her for a week and add more fights to her schedule as punishment," another piped in. Suddenly, the woman they were watching through the mirrored glass, lifted her head, giving them an evil smile along with deadly eyes burning into their souls. Her glare freaked everyone out because the Viewing Room was supposed to be soundproof. J-Hope scoffed with amusement.
"Why doesn't she just lose to a Master and then run away when she's out of captivity?" A woman in the back of the crowd asked.
"According to the Underground Rules, they are allowed to be tracked down and killed by any means necessary, which makes it more dangerous than in the ring most times," J-Hope replied, gulping at the horrible thought.
"I challenge her!" the first man cried, punching the options for a fight through the panel in front of the group of people. He smiled evilly as he turned in his application, requesting the 'Broken Castle' arena as the battlefield. The group went on to look at other Fighters before going toward the seats. The arena was set up so that the fight would happen in the middle, while all the seats were wrapped around the arena to watch for the processed fight to begin.
Karen had been fighting in the Underground since she was fifteen. She had, long ago, rose up in ranks near the top, but she received more punishments than rewards along with her name. Whenever a Master challenged her, the wounds she gave them were so close to fatal, they would have to be hospitalized for months. When she was assigned to fight against other Gladiators or Fighters, she would only fight until they could no longer stand, since she understood that it was not their fault they were thrown into the ring.
Karen sighed a long sigh as she pulled her tattered and worn out jacket over her shoulders for warmth. She glanced at the broken TV screen for the order that had been sent through by the challenging Master. She hissed painfully at the terrain chosen, she hated the 'Broken Castle' arena. She had seen most of the fights from that arena; they were probably the goriest fights of the lot. The fights usually ended up with people using bricks to break their opponent's bones, it slightly terrified her. However, with the world she was currently living in, there was so much pain, every bloody fight seemed the same. The familiar metal doors swung open, letting her into the arena. She walked to the center, waiting for her opponent to be let it. Her challenger cautiously walked in. He spotted Karen in the center with her eyes closed. He picked up a brick and cautiously approached her.
Karen sensed her opponent's presence as he tried to silently step among the broken rubble. As the man charged at her from behind, she ducked did a 'Dragon Sweep' knocking the feet from under the man. The man stood up quickly, but before he could find his balance, he received a punch in the nose and two fingers digging over his collarbone, bringing him down to his knees. The man managed to knock her arm away and hit the side of her knee with his other arm, giving him time to stand up again. Karen, feeling no mercy for this man, stood her ground, fulfilling her name as 'the Lazy Warrior.' The man picked up a brick and threw it at her harshly. Karen easily sidestepped the brick, taking a step toward him, while keeping her protective stance. The man ran up and sent an uppercut towards her chin with his right arm. In turn, her right arm clamped down on his joint so that his arm couldn't reach her face. She used her left hand to curl his right arm around itself, making him fall on his right knee. She maneuvered around him and send a kick to his ankle, breaking it with a loud snap. She then elbowed his exposed ribs and sent a powerful and bloody punch to his head. The man waved to the guards on the side, that he wanted to surrender, muffling, "SUWWENDA!" as he was being punched multiple times in the head. The man managed to use the weight of his body to make himself fall to the ground so that his left leg could try to kick her. Karen's quick reaction caught his leg, mid-flight, but as her leg swung around to break his kneecap, the guards on the side of the ring pulled her off, still raging with defiant character and energy.
