Chapter 9: Untold Secrets

I woke up to get ready for another day of school. Finn woke up in the grumpiest mood so I decided to cheer him up with his favourite song, "springtime stroll" by secret crates. It's my all time favourite as well.

I convinced Finn to get out of bed and dance with me. It made me feel loved, just like old times when my mother was around. Once the song had finished, we started to get prepared for school. We showered and had breakfast. However,when we were just about to leave, Mrs Otley asked for us to come into the living room. She had a big smile on her face but Finn was so angry. "Hello Finn!" the woman exclaimed. In a fit of rage, he stormed out of the house, slamming the door behind him. I could see that Mrs Otley was hurt because of what Finn had done. 

I ran outside and I could see Finn at the other end of the street. I started running towards him but he wouldn't even turn around. Whoever that woman was, she had something about her that Finn hated. I managed to catch up with Finn. "Hey! Why did you go like that?" I asked. "Just drop it Sophie." he said. "Finn, what's going on?" I asked anxiously. "It's nothing! Why do you even have to get involved?!" he yelled. I stood in silence. I felt tears in my eyes. Just before they started to run down my face, I began walking to school at a rapid pace. "Sophie, wait.." Finn said softly. I turned back but continued walking. Once I got into school, I ran into the bathroom to check my face. I had blotchy skin and red eyes but I needed to get to class. 

I walked into class a few minutes late but I didn't really care. "Sorry I'm late." I said softly. "It's okay, just take a seat." The teacher said. As I walked to my seat, I walked past Finn. He grabbed my wrist and whispered "We need to talk." I pushed his gripping hand off of mine. I slowly walked to my seat in absolute despair. "Okay class, today we will be doing experiments, so everyone grab a partner." the teacher explained. Everybody was getting paired up while I just sat in my seat. "Sir, I haven't got a partner." I said lowly. "Well, Finn hasn't got a partner either, go with him." the teacher said. Reluctantly, I walked over to Finn's table. "Soph, are you just going to not talk to me or are we going to figure this out?" Finn asked.
I replied, "I don't have a choice, I have to talk to you if we're going to get this work done." I said firmly.
"Mix the chemicals together and write its word equation." The teacher explained. Everyone got to work. "Let's just get this over with," I said to Finn. "Soph, we're sorting this situation out now. I'm not taking no for an answer." Finn stated. "Oh what do you want me to do Finn? To pretend like nothing happened this morning?!" I yelled. I started to tear up and Finn gave me a hug. I was uncomfortable at first, but then I realised there was no need to hold a grudge against him. I hugged him back and I controlled my tears. "I guess you don't completely hate my guts," Finn chuckled. "You goofball!" I exclaimed. We both laughed and smiled at each other.
