I met Finn at the same spot that he was in yesterday morning. "How's it going Sizzler?" He asked. "I'm doing OK, Fishy!" I answered. We laughed and started to walk to the bus stop. Finn told me that he couldn't stop thinking about the black orb that we saw on the floor in school. To be honest, neither could I. It just seemed so mysterious. What if it was a bomb? What if it was for magical powers? No. It can't be. Can it? Anyway, we had got to the bus in time and got to school in no time. "Day  five at the Devil's Corner," he sighed. We chuckled and went inside. We had our lessons and then bell rang for lunch. We got a sandwich and sat down. "Soph, what are we going to do about this orb?" Finn asked. "I don't know. I really don't know." I replied. Just then, Finn had a great idea. "What if we come into school tomorrow? The science fair is on tomorrow so we don't have to sneak in." I thought it was a great idea. "What are we coming in to school for, exactly?" I asked. "To find out more. Just meet me outside my house. Or you can sleep in my house if you want!" He exclaimed. I said I would try to come. There we had it. Our plan to 'find out more'. I still didn't know what he was talking about. "You'll see," he whispered, "and if you can't come to my house. You know where I'll be." He laughed. "OK..." I said. I got back to my house to be greeted by Martin and Belinda. "How's was your day?" They asked. I completely ignored them and went to my room. I quickly got some things together and left for Finn's house. "Where are you going?" Martin asked. "I'm going to Finn's house," I replied. They didn't say a word. I just left for Finn's house. I got to Finn's house within seconds since he lives across the street from me. "Hey Sizzler, did your dad let you stay over?" Finn asked. "Yeah but he's not my dad.  He's just Martin." I answered. "Whatever you say Sizzler!" He answered. We laughed and went in. "Hey Sophie!" Finn's mother exclaimed. "Hi Mrs Otley," I answered. "Come on Sizzler, I've got something to show you." Finn said. We went upstairs to Finn's room. Once we got there, I saw a piece of paper on Finn's bed. "What's this?" I asked. "It's nothing.." he answered. All of a sudden, Finn broke down into tears. "Finn, what's wrong?" I asked him worried. "It's my dad," he whimpered "he's gone to paradise." He sat on the floor and wailed. I managed to stop him because I've had similar experience of when my mother died. It was a very hard time but I got through it. I encouraged him that he would get through it too. He had stopped crying at this point and was focusing the positive things in life. Anyway, we began to discuss our plan to come to school the next morning. Finn reminded me of what we were going to do at school. I forget things very easily. We had discussed our plan and knew exactly what we were going to do. We went downstairs and had dinner. After that, we went to bed and waited for the big day ahead of us.
