"Sometimes, you have to dig deeper, to develop something new." FGBW

-Aubrey's POV-

It's been about two weeks since I got here, things are going just fine and Loki is never not in his room so I've been trying to join him when he allows me too, which has only been like twice, and both times we were reading.

Today everyone has to go out and do something so I have the Tower to myself. I planned on doing some baking considering the fact that Steve won't let me have the Twinkie stash that he keeps in a safe in the top of the pantry.

I got up that morning and changed into shorts and a hoodie and long socks, grabbing my phone I walked into the living room, seeing no one there I smirked.

"Jarvis, connect to my phone and start my music."

"Will do."

My music started playing through the speakers Tony had installed in the Tower.

I turned the speakers up loud and walked into the kitchen, getting out the stuff I needed to make chocolate chip cookies. And began adding ingredients into the mixer. After everything was added and mixed I took a wooden spoon and took out a chunk of cookie dough, taking it off the spoon and popping it into my mouth. I smiled, "Perfect."

I squealed when one of my favorite songs started playing. Why don't you love me by Hot Chelle Rae.

I glanced around, "Jarvis?"

"Yes, ma'am?"

"Make sure no one in the Tower sees this and this is our secret."

Jarvis complied.

I started dancing like a moron to the song, loading my cookie dough onto a tray and into the oven.

I grinned and waited eagerly for them.

I spun around in my socks on the hardwood floor and used the wooden spoon as a microphone. I sang at the top of my lungs and danced around....deep down inside I couldn't help but think about Bruce, and the times we would spend together, the dates, the dances...It made my heart ache but I pushed it aside.

"WHY DON'T YOU LOVE ME? TOUCH ME?" I spun around. Suddenly my music stopped.

"Yo Jarvis, what happened?" I said getting my phone out and looking at it. My music had been paused.

"Ahem."

I went ridged. My eyes widened and I slowly turned around.

There stood the God of Mischief, leaning against the wall with his arms over his chest. My face went completely red and I looked down at my feet.

"That was quite the show." He said, a cocky grin playing on his lips. I looked away as he pushed himself off the wall and walked over to me.

"I didn't realize you were here."

"Well, I certainly wasn't going to go with Thor or any of the other misfits." Anger flared in my chest.

"What do you want?" I growled.

"I wanted to read in peace, but your music was so loud I had to come and see what was going on, it was unbearably distracting."

I looked down, why was I so nervous now?

He looked down at me, studying me, "I won't lie, it's catchy, but tell me, with the amount of passion and desire you just showed you must have been singing about someone." I felt my face get hotter.

"It's none of your business," I muttered. Not wanting to meet his eyes. He smiled and looked down, shuffling his feet.

"Let's see what your memories have to say about that." With that, he pulled me forward and pressed his hand to my forehead.
