"I want you to join us."

Inferno's words hung in the air, unanswered.

Wonwoo didn't expect him to think he would defect against the Government. A small amused smirk crept up his face.

"What makes you think i will ?"

"Nothing," inferno replied lightly as he shrugged.

Wonwoo raised his eyebrows.

"Its true. You have nothing you care about that's tying you to the Government. You don't have any reason to work for them. So I don't see why you won't join the Gild."

"But i don't see any reason to join you, either."

The man seated opposite chuckled.

"Oh, believe me, you will. Sooner or later."

Inferno leaned closer.

So close that his jacket sleeve grazed the edge of the wall separating him from wonwoo. Upon contact, small tendrils of smoke spiralled out from the black leather.

"Of course, it would be best if it were sooner."

Wonwoo could almost feel inferno's breath on his face, but with the invisible wall between them, he knew it was just an illusion.

"But for now though, you are dangerous because you need no one. You don't have a weakness." inferno eyed wonwoo with interest, "Not one that i know of, that is."

Wonwoo's fingers twitched as he restrained them from forming a fist.

"TQ903, you're a tough nut to crack- i'd admit that. The Government like to think they've made you into someone invincible- someone who is immune to all threats- but i'd like to believe that every human, no matter how cold or isolated, has someone they love and care about."

It took every inch of wonwoo's strength to prevent him from flinching the moment the words were out of inferno's mouth.

"You're the Government's most successful experiment, and you know what the Gild likes to do."

Wonwoo stared straight into inferno's eyes. He could see hatred in those dark brown orbs. And also something else. Something that he knew, will make inferno unstoppable.

Determination.

Inferno smirked. "I'd like to prove their experiment wrong."

Mingyu had a pretty strong feeling soonyoung and seokmin both know something about him that he didn't.

The two were as thick as thieves throughout the whole bowling session, and mingyu had heard his name being mentioned in their (loud) whispered conversations too many times to count.

But after their session ended and he finally decided to approach the two, they were nowhere to be seen.

He sighed and plopped himself on one of the benches by the now deserted bowling lane. He felt someone else plop down beside him.

"Hey mingyu."

It was hard to tell, but the someone had a slight foreign accent.

"Hi jun." mingyu could tell it was his chinese friend without even looking at him.

The boy beside him sighed, "Uh...do you know that wonwoo failed his last mission ? Maybe thats why he's so withdrawn these days."

Mingyu eyes widened in shock.

"You knew ??"

"Same question back at you." junhui responded incredulously.

"Oh wow... okay you go first."

Junhui nodded and spoke.

"I was the one who was assigned to finish the job, along with hansol. He did the cyber work."

"Oh... i see." mingyu said, nodding.

"And you ?" junhui questioned curiously. "I'm pretty sure neither hansol or seokmin would tell anyone, but..."

Mingyu shook his head. "No it wasn't them. I... accidentally opened the mission file."

Junhui mouthed an "oh".

Then silence.

"Thank you." mingyu said.

Junhui looked at the boy in confusion. "For ?"

"Not telling anyone else."

The chinese boy just gave a small understanding smile. "I know wonwoo's not here now, but i had wanted to tell you this because i hoped you could comfort him somehow. I would if i could, but i'm not as close to him as you are to do that."

"I was worried as well, but yeah i did find him yesterday, and i think he should be okay now." mingyu explained, returning the smile.

junhui's such an angel honestly :') anyway hope you enjoyed this short chapter as i've already said before im currently pretty much mindblocked, but since im having my school holidays rn i felt that i shld be writing this lol so heres a smol update !!
