Joanne was right, a HUGE storm was coming. Dark clouds were gathering-blocking out the sun. I liked it.
"There is no time to dilly-dally," Emma said. "Talent shows in two weeks and we haven't had a proper reversal with Luna yet."
She led the group down to the basement- A fully converted practise studio.
"Took us weeks to sound proof," she laughed. "That sound proof foam is expensive, so me and Damon diy-ed it.
At a closer look it was now apparent the 'interesting wallpaper' was eggcartons.
'Looks stupid and smells rank but totally works!' She explained.
"Whats first?" I asked timidly.
Damon scrunched his face up in thought. "What about 'this is gospel'? Do you know that one?" He asked me.
Know it? I live that song. It got me through so many tough times. I was so happy I finally had some people to talk about this with.
"1-2-3-4"
Emma played the intro 'heartbeat sound' and we were off. Incredibly I actually kept up. It was amazing.
If you love me let me gooooooo sang Damon.
"This is the best of my heart, This is the best of my heart"
but it wasn't Damon this time. It was far more angelic. Hell it gave Brandon Urie a run for his money (who am I kidding nothing could match him). Could it be...Emma?I snuck a glance behind Damon. It was.
Wow, she could really sing- like really sing.
I couldn't stop staring. Her hair cascaded from he forehead as she nodded to keep the beat. She was totally in the zone. It was...beautiful.
What am I saying?! She's a girl. She is just...ahh...cool!
Just as i started contemplating my sexual confusion, loud bangs came from the stairway.
"Guys!!!"Joanne said in a fluster. "Come upstairs! The storm-its-its a cyclone."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We all sat squashed up on the couch as the horrifying news came through the tv.
Ok, maybe a bit dramatic.
Hurricane Debby was coming South. We would get the edge of the storm. Nothing to damaging but roads are closed.
"I rang your parents. Since roads are closed you'll have to sleep over" Joanne smiled. "This is so exciting! Emma never has friends to stay the night!"
I was sending an overwhelming amount of awkwardness to come.
