My alarm clock went off at the exact same time as it did yesterday.  Reaching over, I turned it off and slowly sat up. I rubbed my tired eyes and thought about how work was going to be today. I sighed. I hated my job.

I pulled the bed covers off of myself and stood up. After stretching, I pulled open the curtains. It was a miserable day outside. I stared out of the rain stained window. The rain made me sad. It reminded me of the day of my mother's funeral, of her death.

My father left my mother when he found out that she was pregnant with me. He said he wasn't ready for that kind of commitment. To me he was just a coward.

I thought about skipping work today, maybe tell them I was sick. Paige would be left to do most of the work on her own if I did. I couldn't do that to her.

Stepping into my tiny bathroom, I looked into the mirror. I ran a hand through my hair and turned on the hot tap. After washing my face and brushing my teeth I pulled on my horrible uniform. If I was being honest, it made me feel dirty. All those perverts in the diner, my boss included, made me feel dirty. I had to find another job.

I arrived at work on time as I usually do. My boss, Vince, works in the kitchen as the head chef.  He was over weight, had no hair and smelled really bad. When I first started working here he seemed to be a really nice guy but after a few weeks, his perverted side showed. If I'd of known I wouldn't have taken this job.

The day went in faster than I expected it to. It was almost the end of my shift. Thank God.

Vince winked at me as he placed two plates off food onto the counter for me. I shivered slightly. He's such a creep.

I placed both of the plates onto my tray and began carrying them over to table nine in the opposite end of the diner.

The customers grinned at me as I placed the plates down in front of them. They looked up at me.

"Thanks darling," The one to the right of me said.

"Sure," I replied as I made my way back over to the food counter.

I looked at the clock on the wall. It was now quarter past seven. Paige hadn't been here all day. That was unlike her. She was usually here before I was. Maybe she was ill.

The bell on the door rang as someone entered the diner. I turned and expected to see one of the local dirt bags but I gasped quietly in shock when I saw the most beautiful guy I've ever seen. He had ear-length short brown hair, he must have been around six foot tall and he had the most gorgeous blue eyes.

Why had I never seen him before and what made him come into a hell hole like this?

Watching him sit down at a table, I couldn't tear my eyes away from this beautiful creature. He took the menu in his hand and began scanning through it, looking for something to eat. Well, duh! I thought to myself.

"Are you going to serve him or are you going to continue to stare?" I heard Vince ask behind me.

I jumped in fright slightly. Vince handed me my tray and and my note pad before giving me a smack on my ass. I gritted my teeth so I wouldn't start swearing at him. He deserves a piece of my mind though! I composed myself before making my way over to the stunning man.

As I stopped at his table, the smell of his cologne filled my nostrils. It was intoxicating. I grabbed my pen from my pocket as he shifted his gaze up to meet mine. It felt like my heart exploded in my chest when I saw those blue eyes. I hadn't noticed how bright they were when he first came in. I could feel my jaw starting to drop.
