The pounding pain in my head was what awoke me. It was as though someone was hitting the side of my head with a hammer over and over again. I had to open my eyes. I had to see where I was. Something wasn't right. I could feel it.
Slowly opening my eyes, I blinked a few times to let them adjust. I looked around the room that I was in. It was a bedroom. I tried to sit up but my body wasn't moving. No matter how hard I screamed at my muscles to move, they disobeyed. All I could do was gaze around at the unfamiliarity of this place.
After around ten minutes of trying to get my body to work, it finally did.
As I sat up, I looked down at myself, seeing that I was still in my dress. Thank God.
A small light emanated from a lamp that was on the bedside table to my right.
The bed I was lying in was quite large. The sheets were gold and white. They were really soft too. I wasn't lying under the sheets, but on top of them. The walls were cream as were the curtains that hung over the two huge windows to the left of the bed. Where was I?
I swung my legs over the edge of the bed. Groaning, I held my aching head. I then noticed that my shoes were missing. I stared down at my bare feet, trying to remember what happened to me.
Closing my eyes, I tried my hardest to remember the events of the previous night. No matter how hard I tried, everything was blurry from that night. I remember the sound of people screaming, glass breaking and horrible, evil laughter. That laughter will never leave my mind.
The skin of my feet gently caressed the white carpet below. It was so soft. It felt really good against my skin.
Standing up slowly from the bed, I surprisingly managed to keep my balance.
The room was vast and elegant. A white set of drawers sat to my left, just beside the bed I had been lying in moments ago. I walked over to them.
A vase with a bunch of purple flowers sat on top of the drawers. Beside the vase there was a silver hair brush that looked as though it came straight from the Victorian times. It was beautiful.
Turning my attention to the huge windows, I couldn't help but wonder what was out there. Who's home was I now inhabiting?
I took slow, quiet steps towards the closed cream curtains. It wasn't until I reached out to open them that I noticed my hand was trembling.
Closing my eyes, I took a deep calming breath. Forcing my eyes open once again, I stared at the cream curtains. My heart began to pound like a drum against my diaphragm. Did I really what to know what was beyond the curtains?
As soon as my fingertips grazed the fabric of the curtains, the door to the room made a quiet creaking noise. Someone was entering the room.
I jumped in fright and spun quickly around in the direction of the door. My heart thumped erratically in my chest. My eyes darted around the room, panicking as I tried to find an escape.
That was when the figure stepped into the room. After hearing the door being closed, my eyes fell upon him and I was transfixed.
The smile on his face grew as he gazed at me. His eyes held such beauty. I couldn't stop staring into them.
"Aria" his seductive voice rang in my ears.
I shivered slightly from the goosebumps that crawled down my spine. Gently, I began to bite my bottom lip, watching as he stepped closer to me.
"W-Who are you?" I stuttered once I'd managed to find my voice.
His Indigo eyes lit up at the sound of my voice and he stopped in front of me. "They call me Adrian"
