Chapter 11

It has been 3 months since I met up with Lorenzo, Angel and Tom. We have been working together fine. We managed to solve different cases that we thought were related to Acid. However, since all of us are working together now, Acid has not been active. I guess he realized that all 4 of us are now a force to be reckon with. I guess he's now terrified on the fact that there are 4 different minds working together to achieve one goal. And that goal is to put an end to him. We might not see him again. Acid might have disappear as he knows there are no possibilities that he can escape all 4 of us. No, I am not satisfied with the fact that I failed to catch and reveal his identity. However, if he stops killing, and bring ease to the minds of the citizens. That's good enough for me.

Angel and his sister are going to look up everything the police know about another suspect. A man by the name of Chase Martin. He is an owner of one of the nightclubs. It'll make sense if he is Acid because he spends most of his nights at the nightclub, getting high. He is also known to be an aggressive man. So it would make sense if he is actually Acid when he is on drugs as it could make him violent. Lorenzo is going to find out whatever he can on one of the biggest drug cartel in this city. While Tom and I are going over to my friend, Shane's apartment as he claims to have found a useful information on the Acid case.

While walking towards Shane's place. I had a good small conversation with Tom. I asked him what drove him into being a private investigator. And he told me "After 2 months of my parents' disappearing, I believed that no one can find my parents but me. Only I am worthy enough to find my parents. So I left University, and my childhood dream which is to be a doctor. And focus everything on finding my parents. From there I solve different small cases and slowly build my name. Yeah it has been years, but I still could not find my parents. I guess I am born to help everyone but myself. One of my motivations is actually you. You're my idol, Mr. Midnight.". I looked at him and said "To be honest with you, I know you are talented. And I will not be surprised if one day I read the news and found out you found your parents, and solved the case. I believe in you, Tom.". He then looked down and smiled. If I am his idol, I would want nothing but greatness from him, and by motivating him, by believing in him, it could brighten his future as an investigator. It's the least I can do, as I will not be around forever. He is among the next generation of investigators that could bring everlasting peace to the world.

Once we reached to Shane's apartment, he looked around to make sure no one was following us and pull us in his apartment quickly. "You alright?" asked Tom. Shane looked at him and said "Yes.. No.. Maybe.. I don't know..". I then said "What is it now Shane?". "Nothing, I just want to be safe. That is all.". "No one was following us, I am sure of that". Shane then took us to his living room, asked us to sit while he brought out a file. "I have been gathering information on something, possibly could lead us to Acid.". Shane handed the file to Tom and he straight away checks it out. There were pictures and notes. "What are these?" asked Tom. Shane then explains "There is a cult. Hiding in an abandon mall, 923 Cameron Road, Buffalo. I have even went in to spy on them. Check the pictures.". Tom and I looked at every picture. "Go on.". Shane continued "They, call themselves Acid. Named after THE Acid. They are his worshipers.". Tom looked at Shane with a surprised face "Worshipers?". "Yes. They worship Acid. Claiming that he is the new God. Killing all the people who does not turn to him.". I replied "That is a weird excuse.". Shane agrees and said "To be honest, I think they are just worshiping him in hopes that they will never be a target.". Tom then asks "So what does this have to do with Acid other than just the fact that he has his own fans?". Shane smiled "Their leader, Gabe Garcia. He was once a gang member of some drug cartel. I was told that his job back then was to assassinate people who could be a potential threat to their drug business. And on top of that, he was never caught due to his specialty in covering his tracks and removing any evidence of him being there and that includes how he breaks in to a house.". I replied "So he has the skills that one needs, to fit the Acid profile.". "Exactly!" said Shane. I stand up and said "Thanks Shane, this could be big. Could not have done it without you.". "But be careful Oliver. It was not easy for me to sneak in there. They had people guarding every corner. I was extremely lucky to have made it in, and out.". "Don't worry about me. I know how to handle this.".

One step closer, Acid. One step closer.
