"You lose your way, just take my hand
You're lost at sea, then I'll command your boat to me again
Don't look too far, right where you are, that's where I am"

"To my beloved Carmen,
I'm in love with you, oh god, I'm so in love with you. The day that I first saw you I knew that I had to get you. The way your bright eyes lured me in, the touch of your soft skin, I want to kiss those beauty marks that you hate, I want to inhale your scent that always made me feel at home. I remember staying up till 3am, losing sleep, and losing you. If i've ever done something wrong then please forgive me. I can't explain the heartache that i'm having right now, it's breaking me. I hope you live a happy life Carmen Reedus. Because I'm about to end mine."

I stepped out of my heels, feeling the blisters from all of this running, the bottom of my dress is now stained with mud, and my hair sticking to my face and skin as the rain soaks it wet.
I ringed his apartment doorbell, silent.
"Open Jeffrey's door!" I yelled at the man downstairs, his tag showing "manager"
"I can't do that, that's an invasion of privacy! Plus he isn't here, he left a while ago"
  "what? do you know where?!"
"not exactly, but he did mention something about a beach"
"Coney Island" I muttered, ran out into the pouring rain again.

I got into a taxi, telling the driver to hurry. Coney Island. I get memories when I went to the beach with Jeffrey, I hear distant giggles and water hitting at shore, how the sun heat touched my skin. It reminds me of the song that played on the radio that morning,
"Only seventeen, but she walks the streets so mean, It's alarming truly how disarming you can be eating soft ice cream. Coney Island Queen"
The taxi stops, "i'll be right back" I lied, I hear the taxi driver screaming, telling me to come back. I feel my naked feet sinking into the wet sand, the circus like music plays from Coney Island. I fall a couple of times, getting darker and making it harder to see, rocks and twigs scrape my skin. I keep running up to a hill and stop.
I see Jeffrey's car.

Jeffrey's POV
I sit on the front seat, listening to the white noise and rain drops hitting the car. Inhaling the smoke that starts to fill the small area. A hose that is taped to the exhaust pipe, and that enters the window.
The colorful lights from Coney Island enters the car and shines through the stained windows. It reminds me of church stained window that I would always see on sunday mornings as a little kid. I look up to my rear view mirror and see a black shadow getting closer, I rub my eyes, making sure that it's not the effects of the carbon monoxide, I open the door and I see her, I see Carmen in her white muddy long dress. We both run to each other and hug, the tightest hug in the world.
She then walks towards the car, yanking the hose out of the car window as I remove it from the muffler. I met her eyes again but they're not looking at me, I look behind and see a person on the hill, the rain and the darkness makes it harder to see, so I quickly open the door for Carmen and drove away as the Coney Island lights slowly disappeared.
