Jeffrey's POV I sat outside a cafe, drinking black strong coffee, most of the time I kept looking up and just see cars drive, people walking, what's going through their minds? Are they living a perfect life, or are they miserable. I rested my eyes for a bit, covering them and exhaled, then I heard a bell ring, looking towards the cafe door I see someone getting out. It's her.
"Carmen" I said, she suddenly turned around and sighed, she gave me a small smile, but that didn't stop me from standing up and hug her,

Her scent was quite different, she didn't smell sweet, but she didn't smell at all, kissing her head I break the hug and just holding her hands, looking at her, "How are you?" I said, "doing good I guess, still tired, just got my coffee and I should be fine" she gave me a small smile, I could see that her eyes were bloodshot and dark circles around her eyes, "so, yesterday I said that I wanted to talk with you, but your boyfriend" "Fiance" she interrupted, "Fiance, entered in and didn't get to tell you" I finished, then she sighed ready to shake her head, "please" I held her hand tighter,

"Alright, but make it fast, I want to see my mom" I nodded and walked her to my seat, she sat her coffee on the table and her purse on her knees, then stared at me waiting for me to begin, "Carmen, I-I still have feelings for you" she sighed frustrated, "I really do, ever since I met you, and everytime that I see you a smile forces onto my face and I just get happy, but if you're sad I get sad, just, please, don't marry that guy, please."
Carmen's POV This was the first time I ever saw Jeffrey cry, my heart shattered at the look, suddenly it started to rain, but just a really hard rain, "Please, don't marry that guy, please."

"Jeffrey, I," I sighed, "Why didn't you say this to me when I was in California" Then in a blink I heard a loud noise, a deafening boom that shaked my whole body, after a few minutes I hear distant screams, muffled voices, now my hearing is back again, people screaming at the chaos making Jeffrey to push me and protect me from what just happened, we then looked up to see a hole on the almost shattered glass. I turn around to see and the only thing I saw were people staring or just minding their business. I almost got shot.
