Aaralyn of Imladris's POV.

Legolas kept pestering me to stop and let my body rest, but much needed to be done, "Lord Rimdir!" turning to see who had called out to Rim, it was Éwoyn. Reaching us she looked up at him with slight irritation, "I'm to be sent with the women into the caves." He nodded, "That is an honorable charge."

Snapping back her anger was clearly rising, "to mind the children, to find food and bedding for when the men return. What renown is there in that?" she asked, rhetorically. Lightly taking her shoulders, he lowered his eyes to hers, "My lady, a time may come for valor without renown. Who then will your people look to in the last defense?"

Rimdir of Erebor's POV.

"Let me stand at your side." she said holding tight to my arms like if she let go she really would be forced to go into the caves. "It is not in my power to command it." I said lowering my head closer to hers. Letting go, I turned away from her, not wanting to see the look in her eyes much longer, personally, I thought the idea of her in the caves was a great idea,

She would be safe and I wouldn't have to worry about her on the field. "You do not ask the others to stay!" several people stopped to listen but then moved on, when warriors ushered them forward. "They fight beside you because they would not be parted from you." I was startled by her sudden outburst.

"Because they love you." I didn't know what to say at that second, lightly glaring, as a way to get her inside; she blinked realizing her tone, "I'm sorry." Passing me, I watched her shimmy past my mom and Aragorn; I kept my eyes on her until she rounded the corner. After all the men and strong boys were gathered, they were taken to the armory.

I went to stand with the king until my mom needed me.

Aaralyn of Imladris's POV.

Standing in the armory I was inspecting the swords, they weren't perfect but they would do what was needed of them, looking around all I saw were Farmers, farriers, stable boys. Moreover, all scared out of their wits. Looking at Legolas I said softly, "These are no soldiers." A soldier walked past Gimli, and he leaned forward and said,

"Most have seen too many winters." His tone matter of factly. "Or too few." Aragorn added. I sighed and rubbed my temples, in exhaustion and frustration. Legolas nodded in agreement, looking at all of these men, I saw fear and confusion, but also hope. Hope that they would survive and get to return to their families. While defending their homes.

"Look at them. They're frightened. I can see it in their eyes." The room went silent, as Legolas said that, "Boe a hyn neled herain...dan menig!" {And they should be. Three hundred...against ten thousand!} Legolas said snidely "Si beriathar hyn ammaeg na ned Edoras." {they have a better chance of defending themselves here than in Edoras.}

I told him, trying to keep my temper, I didn't want to yell at him, "Aaralyn, men I ndagor. Hyn u ortheri. Natha daged aen!"{they cannot win this fight. They are all going to die!} losing it, I turned on him, "then I shall die as one of them!" we stared at each other, for a moment before I got too frustrated to even be in the same room, turning on my heels I stormed out.

Going to my room, I asked one of the healers to bandage my arm, when he finished he left and I got dressed in a clean shirt, then my tunic, but left my blue fur coat I got from Thorin on the bed with a letter in case something happened, then all the small stuff, after I tightened my boots I strapped on my bow and arrows. I reached for my swords next but Legolas had it,

Handing Orcrist and Ringil to me, I looked at him, and he raised his brows in apology. Sighing I took his arm that held my swords and pulled him to me, kissing him swiftly on the lips. Strapping on my swords, he spoke, "Aragorn and you have led us this far. You have not led us astray, forgive me, I was wrong to despair,"

He rubbed his head and sighed heavily, "the worry of losing you to any of these upcoming battles is hitting my nerves." I giggled and hugged him. The three of us looked to the right as Gimli came in, jiggling his chainmail around. "We had time, I'd get this adjusted." Letting it fall it pooled around his feet,

Looking at him in amusement, he looked up, and said "it's a little tight across the chest." we nodded slightly accepting the dwarf's excuse. The sound of a horn went off, Legolas looked up the stairs and announced, "that is no Orc horn." quickly the three of us bolted up the stairs, and down halls and out the doors, to see, Haldir and a platoon of Lorien elves.

"We come to honor that allegiance." Jogging down the stairs Aragorn was the first to greet him. "Mae govannen, Haldir!" {welcome, Haldir} he said with a little bow, before pulling him into a tight hug. Backing up I came over and laid my hand on his shoulder, "you are most welcome." I told him, he smiled and bowed slightly,

After Legolas gave his greeting the platoon turned and lowered their bows and shields in unison. "We are proud to fight alongside Men, once more." He said to Theoden. Rimdir came down the stairs with Gimli right behind him, the two greeted and embraced. Rim and Gimli finally showed up and Haldir greeted him as he did us.
