IRL(Jada's POV)
My day started out completely normal, mostly like my everyday schedule. I was actually in a good mood today, but that didn't last very long at all. Around 2 in the afternoon, I just got home from my college classes, I got a call.
My mother informed me that my grandmother has passed away earlier in the day, but won't be having a funeral because our family doesn't have enough money for it.
That broke me, I didn't even get to say goodbye, I don't even remember the last time I told her that I loved her. I feel like a complete and utter idiot and now I'm being anti social again.
I slowly get up from my tear stained bed and make my way to the front door of my apartment when I hear the doorbell ring.
I try to make myself look at least somewhat decent for whoever's on the other side of that door. When I open it, Zion's standing there with a whole bag of things that I don't even know what they are yet.
"Jada." He spoke softly seeing my tear stained eyes. "What happened?" He asks coming in and closing the door behind him.
"I-I...My—" I start but my voice crack and the tears start to resurface again. I completely broke down. I lost it. I don't do this with anyone but I couldn't help it. Zion carefully picks me up with whatever bag he had in his hand and leads me to my room.
I feel so stupid right now. I knew I should've never moved to California.
"Ssshhh." He tries to whisper softly once he takes off his shoes and climbs into bed with me.
If I was in my right state of mind, I would've probably stabbed him if he ever tried to touch me but now we're in bed, cuddling together. All because I couldn't hold myself together.
I start to steady my breaths once his soothing words register in my mind.
