Chapter 3
<><><><>
Out of the corner of my eye I saw Jason, Damien, and Sam run towards the villagers, trying to get them out of the way. I also say Athanasia and Cynthia running around helping those who have been injured. I ran faster towards the Chimera with Lucas by my side.
"Lucas, go left away from the villagers, distract it, I'll go right and try too find it's weak point" I shout at him as I run to the right of the beast. 'Lets hope this thing has a weak spot' I think to myself as I see Lucas grab it's attention. I noticed that the house of light had gone to the left of the beast as we'll. 'thank gods, the more distractions it has the less likely it will notice me' I though. 'Now how the hell do you kill this thing' I think as I near it.
Out of the corner of my eye I notice something coming towards my head and I duck down, just in time to see the snake head of the beast go over top of my head. The thing came at me again and this time I raised my Dirk to attack it. I swung at it and ducked again as it tried to go for my neck. It came at me again, this time at my legs, I jumped over it and managed to slice the side of the snake a bit causing it to hiss at me. This time when it attacked it wrapped itself around my leg, yanking it, causing me to tumble to the ground. I landed with a painful groan as I got back up, but this the beast wasn't interested in me. It was heading for a woman who looked about my age.
"Shit!" I mumble under my breath as I raced of towards the woman. I managed to get there right before the snake and whiled around to face it. Right as I turned the snake sunk it's fangs into my stomach. I screamed out loud and noticed the boys turn to look at me. The snake detached itself from my bloody stomach and I swung my dagger at it, taking it off guard, and chopped of the head causing the Chimera to screech out loudly. "Son of a bitch! That bloody hurt!" I curse.
"Sam! Come get her way from hear!" I shout as I turn to the lady. "Come one, hi'll get you to safety, make sure you stay as far away from the Chimera as you can and try and get others to stay away too" I tell the lady as Sam grabs her by the hand and pulls her away. I take one more look around to make sure that there no one else there before I run back towards the beast. I saw the thing had flung the boys away and was turning back towards the villagers who screamed when it blew fire at them.
"Hey jackass, pick on someone you own size!" I shout at it as I grab my bow and shoot it in the eye. 'Well all I can say is it definitely had it's attention on my now' I thought as it screeched out in pain and turned towards me breathing fire. I did a quick tuck and roll as I ran towards the beast, dodging it's blast of fire as I went. From the corner of my eye I noticed the boys getting back up. As I got closer to it it gave up on fire and starlet swiping it's claws at me. I ducked and swung my dagger at it as it pulled away. It went to swipe at me again but this time I countered it with the swing of my blade, chopping of one of its claws.
All I can say is it was not a happy camper. Before I could even blink it swung at me, catching me off guard and sent me flying. I landed a few feet away on my back. "Oww" I muttered as I lifted myself of the ground. I shook my head and looked towards the beast only to see a tiny little boy, more older then five, walking towards it.
'Oh shit!' I thought. The boys were stills to far away to save the kid as the Chimera locked it's eyes on the kid. I saw it lift up it's paw and I ran towards the kid, and when I got the I grabbed him and held him to am as I stood with the back to the beast, bracing myself. Just a few seconds later I felt it's claws swipe across my back, ripping it open. "AGHHHHHH" I screamed. 'Holly mother of the gods that hurt' I thought in pain as I picked the kid up, ignoring the pain, as I ran to the villagers.
