One Last Chance (Harmione Story)

Chapter 2: Train Ride to Hogwarts

*Harry's POV

We got on the train and went into one of the compartments. Shortly after, we heard the horn and the train started to move.

-Where is Ginny? - Hermione asked - wasn't she supposed to come?

-She is coming. - said Ron then, he leaned on closer to her and sai pretending I couldn't hear him - she broke up with him...

-Oh! I'm sorry Harry - Hermione added quickly, the guilt of bringing it up was glued to her face.

-Don't be... - I said trying to calm her - I guess it wasn't meant to last anyway, we started drifting further apart since the start of the holidays. It had lost the emotion. All I will say is that some of the furniture gained wings that day and the best part was, since it was her bedroom and she was the one who started the fight it was up to her to repair the damage!

They both laughed and, as soon as I remembered what happened that night, so did I. It was great to be back together once again.

After we stopped laughing I felt strange, like something was right. Then, I realized that Hermione was sitting by my side, in fact, she was sitting very close to me, she usually spent the ride by Ron's side.

I turned towards the window, thinking whether I was or wasn't overreacting, seeing things that wasn't there.

*Hermione's POV

As we stopped laughing I noticed Harry was glancing at me and Ron and then he turned towards the window. After that, I realized I was sitting opposite of Ron and not next to him as I usually did. Thankfully Ron didn't seem to notice, I could already imagine his reaction if he did. Our relationship wasn't going that well since we headed home after the war ended. It was no secret between me and him that we weren't as close now as we were before but, I guess that it was only when I was with him in person that I really saw how far apart we had gone.

Riding through the beautiful landscapes we got over those uncomfortable moments we enjoyed the ride, as usual...
