As the train arrives at Hogwarts, the trio made their way through the familiar halls and passageways to the great Hall. It was good to the see that the efforts of all the students and teachers managed to bring back the Hogwarts they all knew and loved, it was no longer the wreck it was left as by the war, now it was back to it's former glory.
*Hermione's POV
The three of us were joined by Neville, Luna, Seamus and Dean as we headed for the Great Hall. We got there and before the ceremony started we began telling stories of our holidays. We sat at the table and, once again, I realized I sat next to Harry instead of Ron. What's happening to me? What does this mean? I thought to myself. Hopefully before anyone managed to comment, the first years came in for their Sorting:
Griffindor ... Ravenclaw ... Slytherin ... Hufflepuff ...
*Harry's POV
As soon as I settled an the table I notice Hermione sat next to me once again, I looked at her and she had a worried look on her face, she knew she was going farther away from him.
Then the sorting started.
(...)
When the sorting ended prof McGonagal, the new headmistress, stood up to make the usual new year announcements:
- I'm very happy to be standing here in front of you all and, firstly, I would like to give a special thanks to Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley as they played a major role in the defeat of Voldemort, but above all I would like to remember those who gave their lives so that we could be free, so that we could live without fear... - there was a loud roar of aplause - furthermore, halfway through second term we'll be having a party in Dawning Day, to celebrate the occasion, but for now, let the feast begin!
Suddenly, the plates filled themselves with food just before our eyes.
- So. How were your holidays? - Neville asked
- Brilliant - I responded - at least for me. I stayed at the Burrow. Though towards the end of the summer I couldn't get much sleep. George started to get over Fred's death and he returned his experiments on new jokes for their shop. It was rather hard to sleep with stuff blowing up two doors down the hall.
This sentence made everyone laugh.
- Though - I added - none of the Weasleys seemed to notice, they may be used to it by now.
This made everyone laugh even more. It was really good to be with everyone at last.
*Hermione's POV
As soon as I managed to pull myself toghether I said:
- I didn't realy enjoy my holidays that much. It's kinda boring to live in the Muggle world after you spent that much time with magic all around you. It's much better now that I'm allowed to use magic outside of school but still, it's not the ame than being here. On the other side it's so great to have my parents back, leaving them made me realize how much you can get attached to something or someone and not know it until you lose it.
- I also had a great time - said Ron - I guess having someone you like with you is a great help. And Harry, don't think I didn't notice George's experiments. After he started to recover from his brother's death going to the bathroom in the morning became quite the adventure.
Once again, everyone laughed, it was so good to finally be back. the evening continued that way for a while, first on the Great Hall, then on the common room. It was well past 4:00 AM when we went to bed so, natural, the next day everyone was extremely tired (even me for a change!) and it was hard to stay awake in class. That day was quite the opposite of the day before, everyone was fast asleep by 8:00 PM...
Hope you all liked this chapter and that you'll be here for the next one.
Spoiler alert it's going to have some action. But don't tell anyone OK??? I'm going to post it in one or two days. Until then, like, share and comment.
See you,
-Gomesss
