In the days that followed, Wendy continued to talk with Peter. They stuck to her old room to talk. Wendy sat either on Peter's knee, stomach, chest, or shoulder when she talked to him. "You know, I haven't held you this close since you fell and I caught you." Peter chuckled. They talked about their adventures in Neverland, which made Wendy question why he was here and grown up. "Peter...why did you come back after so long?" Peter tensed up a bit, of all the questions she could have asked, it had to be that one. "Well...I missed you too much to just move on...For me, everything I did, every game I played, every story I heard, it reminded too much of you. A few months before finding you here, my clothes became a little too snug for me. My voice had gotten deeper, my face had matured, and I'd gotten stronger. Tink measured me and lo and behold, I had grown to be a full sized 20 year old male. That was when I decided to leave Neverland for awhile to clear my head. And I guess fate brought me back here...to you, Wendy..." Wendy simply sat there on his lower chest and stared at him sympathetically, having wished she'd stayed by his side. She reached out finally and rubbed his chest through his shirt comfortingly. Peter smiled before standing up and gingerly placing Wendy into his chest pocket. Wendy tensed up at fabric against her from all sides. "P-P-Peter...?" Peter felt the tiny body trembling against his chest and he gently reached up and delicately rubbed the tiny bulge in his pocket soothingly, and felt the tiny form relax. His index finger opened the pocket a smidge and he gazed at her apologetically, wishing he hadn't just placed her in there without warning her. "Sorry, Wendy, I should have asked you for permission to pick you up..." Wendy calmed some at Peter's gentle fingertips caressing her with a carefully calculated pressure. "T-That's Alright, Peter." She felt Peter move around. She curled up against the vast chest behind her, and contently listened to his steady heartbeat as his heart bumped blood through his body and the steady rising and falling motion of his lungs taking in air and releasing it with each breath he took. She then noticed light had filtered into the pocket had illuminated the brown fabric walls around her. She peeked her head out only to freeze in place as terror filled her. Peter had stepped outside. She hadn't been outside since her 'incident' and she was scared out of her wits. Peter had closed the door when he felt Wendy shaking again. At first, he thought she was cold, but then he felt her body press against his chest and her fingers gripping his pocket with a death like grip. "Wendy, you okay? You look pale..." He saw Wendy eyes glisten with fearful tears, and he gently cupped his hands against her as if to give her a comforting hug. "Wendy, you know I wouldn't let anything happen to you." Peter whispered, his thumb brushing what he was certain was an arm. "You'll be in my pocket the whole time, okay?" "O-Okay..." Peter gave one last assuring rub before doing up the coat he was wearing and carefully walked down the quiet street.
