Seven days. That was how long Castiel had been trying to become visible again. He had tried everything, from any sort of spell he could find to even trying to go back to Raphael. He was hidden well, no where Castiel could find. He went up to heaven multiple times, but no one could see him there either. The seventh day came, and all he could do was sit across the room from Dean and watch him pray.
This was the third time today he was praying for Castiel.
“Hey, Cas. I don’t know what happened, but please, please come back dammit. We need you here, man.” He paused and looked around with one eye. “Please. I need you to be here.” he said the last part quietly, but Castiel heard every word. Pulling together every ounce of strength in him, he tried his hardest to become visible, but all he could do was get up and walk over to where Dean was sitting. The Angel sat down on the bed beside him, the motel room lights flickered once.
“Dean.” He said quietly, regret in his eyes. “I’m sorry.”
Dean, of course, couldn’t hear him. He stood up on his feet, running a hand through his dirty blond hair.
“Dammit Castiel! Just give me a sign or something! For all I know you’re dead!” The brother turned and looked around before stomping out the door. Castiel heard the impala’s wheels turning. Quickly he stood up and in a blink, he was sitting shotgun next to Dean.
“Hold on a minute, you impatient fool.” Castiel said, even though he knew Dean couldn't hear him. He appeared on the side of the road and spread his wings. They were ebony colored and his wingspan surpassed any living birds. He brought his wing to his hand, and taking hold of one of the smallet feathers, he clenched his teeth and pulled. Stifling a scream of pain, he pulled out the feather.
"Aghh!" He winced, "Dammit!" He yelled. Holding the feather in his hand, he folded his wings back in. "Only for you, Dean." He grumbled.
He looked at Dean from the backseat. He stared at the man in the drivers seat. His dirty blond hair was spiked up, like he had just pulled his hand through it. His face was speckled with freckles, and Castiel wanted to place his hands on the hunters face and touch every single one. Castiel sighed and placed the feather on the shotgun seat.
He was tired of this. He wanted to talk to Dean. He wanted to be seen.
He would make himself seen again. He would make Dean hear him if it wad the last thing he did. And with that, he disappeared from the impala.
