"God dammit!" Emmett yelled as his character was shot down by my character.
"Emmett! Language!" Esme scolded him as she walked into the living room with a plate of cookies for me. I grinned at her and she winked to me, laughing when Emmett threw his Xbox controller on the ground in frustration.
"How did someone who's never played this game before manage to kill me? Jasper can't even do that!" Emmett whined.
I grinned as I leaned back into the sofa. "I just have amazing skills."
"Don't bring me into this," Jasper warned Emmett with a scowl, but fighting a smirk at Emmett's whines.
Emmett turned and pointed his finger at me. "You had beginner's luck. Rematch."
I smirked. "Fine. Let me whoop your butt again. Alice, can you confirm that?"
Alice nodded. "Bella wins again. The next three times before you throw a hissy fit and storm off like the big baby you are."
Emmett huffed and gave everyone death glares as we all laugh at his own expense. I was so happy and giddy, and I'm sure Jasper could sense it as he was slightly bouncing in his seat. Apparently, he can be affected by emotions if they're strong enough. Looks like my happiness is pretty strong and everyone else's emotions must also be affecting him greatly.
It was Wednesday and I needed this after a bad day at school. At school everyone wanted to know what actually happened during my attack on Jessica and when I didn't answer their questions they spread more rumours. I had bunked off most lessons and spent it in the trees surrounding the school, climbing and sitting on trees and their branches which could hold my weight.
I reluctantly left when I heard Edward call my name and I saw him in the tree next to me, perched steadily on a thick branch. He had jumped from his tree to mine and helped me climb down, even though I protested that I could do it myself.
I had finished my homework and Alice dragged me downstairs so I could watch Emmett play his video games. He'd cheered and bragged about beating Jasper, and I'd challenged him to knock his bloated ego a few notches. My plan worked and now he was having a tantrum.
"Emmett, be serious. Not only did a human beat you, but a girl beat you." Jasper chuckled.
"Hey, less of the girl." I told him. "Emmy, don't get so frustrated by the fact that a human kicked your butt at a game station I've never played, let alone play this game."
He frowned. "You've never played the Xbox before?"
I shook my head sadly. "No. I wasn't even allowed to watch TV. So, in conclusion, this is my first go at playing a video game in years. I used to have a Playstation 2 when I was younger. My mother only allowed me to play child-friendly games. But I used to have a friend who'd gave me Grand Theft Auto. I loved it."
"Then you're going to like the new Grand Theft Auto," Emmett told me.
"Have you got it?" I asked eagerly.
He shook his head. "Carlisle won't let me buy it. He said I have enough violent video games."
I glared at Carlisle. "Please, Carlisle! We need to get that game. Please." I pleaded.
"Please," Emmett repeated me in a begging tone of voice.
Carlisle glanced at the rest of the Cullens, who were watching with amusement.
Alice smirked. "Come on! How can you resist not making her happy?"
"Yes, Carlisle. Make them happy and maybe Emmett will stop arguing and pestering you about getting the game." Rosalie said.
