This chapter is dedicated to Readingchic321 for giving me this idea in the first place. Hope you enjoy!

The space next to was empty, which confused me. Wasn't Edward laying next to me when I fell asleep? He was, I remember, but I shouldn't expect to see him next to me when I wake up. He might need to do something.

Or he regrets kissing you.

No, if he regrets kissing me he would've said something. But maybe he's not going to say anything as he thinks it's going to be awkward. I know nothing about relationships as I've never had one before and I'm not sure what someone would do if the person they kissed regrets kissing them. Maybe I should just ignore it, or maybe he doesn't regret it and he's only gone to do something.

Groaning as I became more confused, I opened my eyes and confirmed that Edward wasn't lying by my side. I would've thought I'd had noticed him leaving, but vampires were very stealth-like. Maybe he just didn't want to ruin my sleep by his cold body temperature. I hope that's the only reason why he's not here.

I sat up and stretched my limbs, wincing slightly when I heard my bones clicking. I shook my hair out of my eyes and stepped out of bed. I went to the bathroom and locked the door behind me.

Twenty minutes later, I was washed and freshed from using the shower and I changed into a light red long-sleeved top, a white cardigan and blue jeans. I put on white flat shoes and a blue scarf to hide the marks on my neck.

Fortunately, the bruises on my arms were nearly gone, except for one on my left shoulder. My legs were completely free of bruises, leaving a unmarked milky skin behind. The red marks on my neck were fading, but not as fast as I hoped and my stomach only had a small yellow mark left. I haven't checked my back as Carlisle's supposed to check it on Saturday.

I left my hair hanging loose and placed a silver hair clip in it Alice had brought me when we went out shopping. It was a dragonfly with blue and purple jewels and it was the size of my palm. It was nice, but I felt like I didn't deserve it. I was broken beyond repair and I don't deserve things like this.

Signing, I turned and my eyes landed on a piece of paper on the bedside table. I picked it up when I reached it and unfolded it to read.

Dear Bella,

The family and I are in desperate need of hunting, as you'd probably notice by our black eyes. We decided to hunt today as we might not be able to restrain ourselves and as it's sunny we can't go to school or in Carlisle's case go to work. Do whatever you want and expect us back in the evening. I didn't wake you to tell you as I didn't want to disturb you and I'm sure this sleep wasn't full of nightmares.

P.S while I'm away I'm going to be thinking about the kiss.

From,

Edward

Well, at least he's not regretting the kiss we shared. I lightly touched my lips and smiled as I remembered feeling his cold, soft lips on mine. I could feel myself glowing and I was glad Jasper couldn't detect what I was feeling as I'm sure he'd know why I was acting like this.

The shrill of my phone ringing brought me out of the memory and hunted for my phone. I found it under my pillow and frowned when I didn't recognise the number. Cautiously, I clicked answer and held it to my ear.

"Hello?"

"Ah, Bella." A woman's voice spoke from the other end. "It's Kasey Hatchings."

"Oh, hi. I'm sorry I haven't contacted you yet. I've been really busy with everything."
