I felt like something could happen between us. Something was stirring between us, I just wish I could put my finger on it. Someday...

Me and James had driven from my house in absolute silence. He managed to push a smile when I looked at him but I could tell something was going on. I couldn't help but worry about him the whole journey to wherever we were going. I decided not to ask him and just let him take us somewhere... That place soon turned out to be a small white house tucked away in the walls and greenery of the town.

"Where are we?" I ask as I unclasp my seatbelt.

"My house." James huffs and gets out of the car, slamming the door behind him. He doesn't wait before walking straight up to the door and unlocking it. Just as I shut the car door I hear him turn around, "Well, are you coming or not?" I give out a small nervous chuckle as I walk past him into his house.

I don't know what I was expecting but I was definitely not expecting this. His house was immaculate. No dirty plates or glasses anywhere in the living room or lounge, no magazines left lazily on the coffee table. It did not come across as a room owned by a young boy. I was taking it all in when I heard a low chuckle behind me.

"What's so fascinating?" He walks towards me and bumps his shoulder against mine.

"Just... your house is so clean." I shrug, turning my attention to the frames of photographs on the side cabinet.

"Were you expecting it to be a complete mess?"

"Kind of... Yes."

"Just because I am of a different gender to you does not mean I am any different at cleaning." I let out a giggle and he soon joins me too.

"So what's the plan for today?"

"Um," He rubs the back of his neck and avoids eye contact, "I hadn't really thought of anything... I just wanted to get away from the paps."

"Hey that's fine. We could just hang here if you want. You may feel more comfortable?" I suggest.

"Yeah sure, sounds good. Make yourself at home." He gestures to the few couches in the room and just as I'm about to take a seat on the brown leather one, James jumps over the back and lies down on it.

"Any one, but this one." He winks, then laughs at my expression, "I'm joking! Come join me."

I follow him onto the sofa and sit on the far end, trying not to make much contact.

"I won't bite you know." His voice comes out very soft and it draws me to him. I move up a bit and cross my legs. James doesn't seem to want it that way so grabs my arms and pulls me so I'm sat right next to him, "You okay?" He asks, resting a hand on my thigh.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I nod, glancing at his hands.

"I can tell you're not. Was it the paps back there? Because I'm so sorry that happened, I hate that they keep following me like this, and now you're involved they won't stop-"

"James, it's fine honestly. I'm fine." I smile to reassure him and he finally gives in, slinging the arm that was on my thigh to the sofa behind my head, "What about you though?"

"What about me?"

"Well you know, you got pretty mad back there. I just thought.. what's going on?" I turn my body so I'm facing him and I can see him looking at the ground chewing the inside of his cheek, "You know you can trust me right?"

"Can I?"

"Yes."

"I haven't even known you that long. What if you're secretly working with the media to give me a bad image? What if you're just doing this to fuck me up?" By this moment, he had stood up and he was pacing across the room infront of me, "What if.. you don't care?"
