We were finally inside when my phone bleeped with a message. James excused himself to go to the bathroom so I put my stuff down by the door as I opened up a new text message from Lisa, containing only four words...
"We need to talk."
"What's up?"
"Hmm?" I look up and see James had returned and was staring at my with a worried expression on his face.
"Something wrong? You look worried."
"No, everything's fine. Just a silly text from Anna." I laugh it off and James nods, believing me. I didn't expect him to, he can be quite persuasive, I thought he'd force it out of me.
"How about a James McVey hot chocolate special?" James winks, making his way to the kitchen.
I laugh, "Sure."
I sit down on the plump leather sofa and curl up into the corner, opening the message from Lisa to reply.
"What about?"
I sent the message and shoved it into my pocket, picking up the tv remote in the process.
My mind was going over what Lisa could possibly want to talk to me about. Those four words gave me a negative feeling and I couldn't help but feel that I had done something wrong. Was it because I'm not allowed to get this close to James? Am I not meant to develop feelings for this boy? Or maybe it was just that we needed to discuss financial matters; and when they were going to pay me. But to be honest, I don't think I want to be payed anymore, I feel like something could happen between me and James and once these few months are up, we could carry on in a relationship. But who am I kidding, everyone would prefer it if he was with a different girl. Someone who is prettier, slimmer, talented, famous and many more. As I was sat stuck in my thoughts, I hadn't noticed James approach and set a huge mug down infront of me.
"Wow." I glance down at the hot cup in my hands, and I'm greeted with a load of whipped cream, marshmallows and more exciting things.
"Yeah, it's my speciality." He laughs, spooning a marshmallow into his mouth.
"Aren't you the member of The Vamps who is always at the gym and always eating healthily?" I tease, nudging his arm with my elbow.
"Been doing your research have you?" He teases back, there is no winning with this boy.
I just laugh and begin eating the amount of unhealthy food piled ontop of my drink. James flicks through the channels before settling on Friends. I smile back at him and once we have finished our drinks I find myself curled up to his side with his arm draped around my waist.
I could not be any happier in this moment, I have said it numerous times but honestly, James made me happy and moments like this I would always love.
"What're you thinking about?" His low voice says, brushing a few strands of hair from my face.
"Everything."
"Go on."
"Just, I don't know it sounds silly." I burrow myself into his chest and it shakes as he laughs deeply.
"Come on, I promise I won't laugh." I look up and am greeted with a serious look on James' face. Here goes nothing.
"Moments like this make me realise that I love spending time with you, even if I'm getting paid to do this, I just adore doing what we're doing and I don't think I'd want to be anywhere else... with anyone else..." Towards the end I look towards my hands and play with them until two warm ones take mine into theirs.
