I didn't know how to feel. James had just told Joe that I meant nothing to me, now he is acting like this. It is toying with my heart and I wasn't sure how much longer I could put up with it.

I awoke to an empty bed. I knew James wouldn't stay the night in the same bed as me but a small part of me secretly hoped he would.

Getting up and quickly jumping into the shower, I put on my new ripped pale blue jeans along with a red crop top and my leather jacket. Throwing my hair in a ponytail I heard movement downstairs and knew James was now awake. I felt myself smiling as I walked downstairs until the events of last night flashed in my brain.

"She means nothing to me, we just need the band's good image back."

I felt my stomach churn and almost decided to hide in his room until he came to check on me, but I built up my fears and made the last few steps downstairs.

"Good, you're awake." His voice came from behind me as he pulled me into the kitchen.

"Yeah." I mumble, avoiding eye contact.

"I need to talk to you about something.. well tell you something kind of," I glance up and look him in the eyes, allowing him to carry on, "Joe wants us to announce the relationship and 'confirm' rumours."

I nod slowly, already knowing he was going to say this. I couldn't help the slight pang of sadness overcome me as I thought he was going to explain himself saying I meant nothing to him. I actually thought we were getting somewhere.

"Are you okay with that? I can tweet about it and you could retweet or something?" He shrugs, getting his phone out of the back pocket of his jeans.

"Sure." I push a smile, but couldn't help feeling slightly sad.

I too got my phone out of my pocket and opened up the twitter app; feeling James' gaze on me. I looked up into his eyes and saw him looking back with a worried look.

"What?" It came out colder than I had wanted.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"Yes, something is wrong I can tell. Your eyes aren't lighting up like they normally do."

I managed to force a smile and he smiled back. I left it at that and waited for James to tweet.

I saw the post on my timeline and I quickly retweeted it and replied with a smiley face.

"Here we go." James sighs.

"What?"

"I can just tell there's going to be so much hate from fans now." He drags his hands down his face and I resist the urge to pull his hands away from his face.

"Oh."

"Come on El."

I keep my eyes focused on my nails as I start to pick at the polish on it.

"Eleanor." I can hear the slight change of tone in his voice and raise my eyes to meet his.

"What do you want?" I say, slightly too harshly.

"El, you're worrying me. What is wrong?" He walks over to me and places his hand on my cheek.

"James we're they're aren't any cameras."

"And?"

"Stop acting this way."

"I can't help the way I feel around you Eleanor." He laughs pulling me closer to him, but I just push him away and increase the distance between the two of us.

"Just don't talk to me. Unless it's something to do with public viewings or shit. I'll see you soon." And with that I ran upstairs to grab my things.

I couldn't help the tears that came streaming down my face as soon as I felt the handle of my overnight bag in my hand. Rushing back down the stairs I ran into James who grabbed my arms and pulled me to him.

"Talk to me El, you're really scaring me." I could see the pain in his eyes, but I knew it was fake, he was just toying with my heart.

"I mean nothing to you, so just leave me alone and focus on getting your band's good image back." And then I left him standing there, with the words I had heard him speak last night.
