Hey everyone bare with me this is my first fanfic, and lets just get to the story.
Lani- dirty blonde hair, blue-green eyes
Landis- brown hair, brown eyes
(Lani's pov)
Its over, everything I have ever known is gone! My family was going to the store leaving me and my sister home alone. We were on a trip and in Pennsylvania at our Mountain House. I knew they weren't coming back after watching the news. I just had to find a way to tell Landis.
"Landis, please sit down we need to talk" I said with a soft tone.
"Lani, don't I saw the news too. We are screwed, what are we going to do. I always thought this would be fun but now.... Now i'm scared..." She trailed off.
"You have me, we are going to make it through this together!" I stated trying to convince myself. I have always been good in combat and any survival thing in life. We have weapons but not as many as we do back where I live in Texas. Now we just hope and pray.
2 weeks later
"Ok, look at me.... I'm just going out for a quick run. Do not leave this house. I will bring back some things for you as well.... Maybe chocolate if your good." I said. She just shook her head and told me to "be safe"
"Be safe as well" and with that I was out the door headed down the road. The cool air cooling my face while going down the hill. I havn't checked any of the houses down the hill yet, so i'm nervous of what i'm going to find.
I reached the clearing and slowly made my way to the road, still staying in the shadows. There are no walkers in sight because only amish and a few others live here. Its a strang feeling living with a bunch of amish/farmers around you up here.
I walk down the side of the road headed for White Hall. They are a candy like store that Landis and I love it! I look in the fields to find untouched crops and a dead horse still stuck to a plow. The sorrow feels me and I look away in horror.
I reach the store and push open the door and bang on the door fram drawing any walkers to the door. The lady that worked here came stumbling out from behind the counter. She had a hard life growing up.........
Her brother and her left there mom to work by them selfs. Her mom would say that they were doing a terrible job. Then they worked here and were making more money than her. So I guess not hard but diffrent life then most amish. I quickly ended her painful life. All I had was a very strong stick, with a quick flick of the wrist she was dead.
I searched the store after and found tons of food. I went to the back and found a duffle bag and started to stuff things in. From woopie-pies to cookies to even the healthy things they had. Mainly grabing things about to expire so I could get the other stuff on another run. I made my way out the door and walked back home.
It was a long strange walk. Passing all of the farms and homes of people I was going to meet last week. But out of all of the farms or houses, in this whole freakin valley, between these two mountains it had to be him....... My good dutch friend, Daniel!
I couldn't take all of the feelings boiled up in me so I fell to the ground. If I knew Daniel well he wouldn't hurt me, but I was wrong. He fell on me and started to nip at me. Taking a deep breath I crushed his head into the cement. I got up and didn't look back.
I knew from then and there I couldn't trust anyone. I had to focus on helping my sister and I at all cost!
