(Carl's pov)
I'm a wreck, Landis is a wreck, everyones a wreck. Lani has been out for a day and Hershel is working on her. Hes left the room now and its just me. This is all my fault, she wouldn't be here if it weren't for me. Her foot is in a splint, head wrapped, and her side is wrapped as well. "You should get some breakfast, you've been in here awhile" my dad says. "I can't leave her side, what if she wakes up. Then what, I have to apologize!" I say unsure. "Just go and i'll watch her" he says. I get up not taking my eyes off her and leave the room. I go and get breakfast, I shove it down my throat as fast as I can! I run back to the room and sit down. My dad leaves, leaving just me and her alone.
I doze off for awhile before i'm awoken by coughing. I look up and see shes up! "Lani i'm so sorry I did this to you" I say softly. She trys to get up but she falls back down. I start to cry seeing her struggle like this. "Stop! Your hurting yourself Lani, please stop" she kep trying to get up but once she saw me crying she totaly stoped.
(Lani's pov)
Everything was re-playing back in my head from the other day. What is today anyways? "How long have I been out?" I ask. "A day" Carl says sadness in his tone. I turn over on my side and quickly turn back over from the pain. I started to get a serious pain in my head. I reached up and felt a bandage. I shuddered at the thought. "Am I going to be ok?" I say looking up at Carl.
"Your going to be just fine, and i'm really sorry" he says looking down. I slowly sit up and give him a huge hug. He looks at me and gives a small smile.
"Can you help me up?" I ask pulling away. He helps me up and leads me over to the rest of the group. They were so happy to finally see me up and moving. I walked outside with Carl and sat down, he sat next to me with his arm around my back. I looked at him and smiled. He gave me a weird look then looked down. "Carl I need your help", "Lani come here" Rick and Landis both called. I turned and looked at Carl.
As he was getting up I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and limped inside. I turned to see him holding the spot I kissed and blushing. "Landis what is it?" I asked.
"Rick has made plans for us to go back to either Texas or Atlanta" she says.
"Well this is great, but I think we need,to go to Texas, quick and easy. To see if any of our family or friends are still alive" I say.
"But Lani, there not going to want to come with us just to see that our family is dead" she says annoyed.
"Lanidis I never said they were going to come with us, and if you want you can stay with them, but I have to see if Kyle or my mom are alive!" I said.
"Lani don't leave please, you can stay with us. And Carl has grown close to you!" She says upset.
"Fine I will stay with ya'll" I say. She smiles and walks back in to help the group pack. But I had diffrent plans, I have to see if hes still alive. I just need to find the right time to slip away.

We were now on the road and we're in 4 diffrent cars we found. I was with Carl, Rick, Michonne, Sasha, and I. To my luck I was stuck in the middle in the back seat between Carl and Sasha. I was getting tired and put my head on Carl's shoulder. He smiled and put his arm around me, I look up and see Rick smiling into the mirror. I slowly fall asleep after.
I wake up hours later and see Michonne driving now. I look up and see Carl asleep still, and Rick and Sasha passed out. I cuddle even more into Carl's chest wrapping my arms around his stomach.
I feel him move next to me once we come to a stop. I let go and sit up. "Ok first day drive over lets get some rooms cleared and get some rest"Rick tells everyone.
We finally clear a few and the kids are stuck in one room, so thats Beth, Landis, Judith, Carl and I. "I'm bunking with Beth!" Landis says jumping on the bed.
"Guess that leaves you and me...." Carl says.
"You stay on your side of the bed and will be ok" I say laughing. We put Judith to be and we hear Landis and Beth snoring but quietly. I turn over so i'm facing Carl.
Hes sound asleep, I let my hand go through his hair. Its soft and silky, hes so cute. I let my hand stroke his cheek and kiss him softly on his forehead. I turn back over and fall asleep.
(Carl's pov)
I feel her hand go through my hair and her stroke my cheek. And to my surprise I feel her kiss my forehead, does she like me too! I open my eyes,after she turns over, her blonde hair messy everywhere. I close my eyes and fall asleep.
(2 hours later)
I wake up to Lani tossing and turning, and shes sweating like crazy! She must be having a nightmare. She quickly shoots up and is panting. I sit up and put my hand on her shoulder. She looks at me and sighs in relief.
"Sorry for waking you" she says softly wiping the sweat from her forehead.
"Don't be, do you wanna talk about it?" I asked. She sighed.
"Its just about my brother, he got bit by a walker, but I never saw him when this started so its just shoking" she says, I can tell shes holding back tears. I pull her into me and lay her head on my chest. She softly starts to cry.
I can feel her sobs rack through her body. I lay her down still holding her close and kiss her cheek. She smiles and cuddles deeper in my chest. She slowly falls asleep. I do the same with her still in my arms.
