Trust In Love

Part 8

                     (Lani's pov)

   I am woken up by someone slightly shaking me. I turn over and remember what has happened. We get straight to packing and load up.

   He has his old Ram flat bed that has the back boarded up. We jump in with Paco and never look back. This is going to be a long road trip. We only have about 2-3 days worth of food, which is all we need, hopefuly. Then a couple bottles of water. And I managed to get a hold of a couple extra gallons of gas.

   I told Landis I would look for her family, but they would of been where my house was. I hope shes holding up ok, and she will love to see Kyle!

                      (Carl's pov)

   We moved on a couple days ago and now just on the road. We finally made it back to Georgia today and now just looking around. Hana still thinks we're a thing, and I feel horrible about Landis. She has a huge scratch on her cheek.

   I can't stop think about Lani though, she kissed me before we left. I treated her so good then Hana came around and I just forgot about her! I'm such a freakin douche! I really hope she comes back.

   My dad pulls up to a stop and gets out of the car. We follow him and go through a few trees till we see a huge prison!

   "Its safe! All we need to do is clear it out" he says. We go back to the vehicles grab our weapons and slowly walk back. We cut through one gate then put wire around it so nothing gets in.

   "Ok its easy, a few people take that gaurd tower then the rest stay down here and will take them out" dad says. We do as told then start shooting them down. Once all clear we meet him in the field.

   After him giving us a talk we pile all the bodies together and bring the vehicles in. We set up a fire and eat. Beth, Maggie, and Landis start to sing. Its peaceful and I feel safe for once in my life. I slowly fall asleep after.....

                     (Lani's pov)

   We were finally back in Georgia but now the hard part, we have to find them. Kyle and I were just driving on a back road at the moment, when the car slowled.

   "Shit! Kyle muttered to himself. He got out and started pulling bags out of the car. I got out and got Paco on her leash and walked to the back to help. After we unloaded the car we walked on the side of the road.

   "Lani are you even sure they came here?" Kyle asked.

   "Yes! I'm positive! They have Landis, they wouldn't change there mind. Would they...?" I said the last part under my breath. We walked for hours until we came across a town. We cleared out a small house and boarded up the door. I took first shift and waited till the sun came back up.

   After awhile Kyle came and took shift I crashed on the couch next to him. When I woke up it must have been around 7. We packed up and scavenged the rest of the town.  Finding nothing fancy we carried on. It was becoming dark so we stepped off into the woods a,little. Kyle and I both climbed up into the same tree and tied our stuff up. I opened a bag and frowned to find the chocolate Carl got.

   "here" I said handing him one. He gladly took it and ate it. I slowly opened mine staring at it. I couldnt take it so I put it back in the bag. Kyle must have noticed because he spoke up.

   "Lani whats wrong?" He asked. I sighed and looked down. Should I tell him.

   "Well lets just say that a guy I liked in the group we are truing to find helped me get these" I simply say grabbing a can of peaches. I look up and see Kyle smirking.

   "You like him don't you?" He said smirking. A little smile cracked onto my face then faded at the thought of Hana.

   "Liked. He has a girlfriend" I say then lean againt the tree and eat. Kyle sighed then looked at me.

   "Don't put to much thought into it, lets get some sleep" he said. I smiled and leaned back and slowly fell alsleep.

   I woke up to moans, I looked down and didnt move a muscle. I looked over and saw Kyle awake. Walkers, thats all we saw... Walkers for days, well not really.  There were just dozens of them quietly shuffling. After they left we got down and walked the opposite direction.

   we found the road and walked on. Once we got a long distance away we cut off the other way down a trail. We found a creek and filled our water bottles. "Kyle lets get going" I said walking ahead which was a bad choice.

   My foot caught the edge of the hill and I started to tumble and roll. Every rock I hit cutting into my side and every other piece of skin I had. With one last breath I hit the bottom and could feel the pain everywhere. Kyle rushed down and picked me up.

   "We need to fine help and fast!" Kyle said and took off running. We made it threw a clearing and saw walkers against a fence and a huge building before I passed out.....
