Flashback, Skylor's POV

Every day that passed I could feel my connection to my powers weakening. After Chen had sucked my powers away, we figured out that I would never have the same connection to them as before, and that they would fade eventually if I didn't have repeated contact with that elemental master. I had to go bathe Aryssi and Bird, and I was absolutely exhausted.

The only bathroom with a tub was small and run down. We had been so busy in the past few years that we have not had the time to repair it. I turned on the tap, and brown, grimy water tumbled out and ran into the drain. I cursed, this would not suffice to bathe the children in. Concentrating, I began to use Nya's water element to fill the tub. The tub was about halfway full when the jet of water started to decrease into a gentle stream. Then a drip, then nothing at all.

I cursed again. "No, this cannot be happening. No, no, no! Please, don't lose it now!" I cried.

"Mummy sad." Two year old Rissy said.

"Kylor angry." Three year old Bird said.

I felt like I had now completely lost all connection to Nya. I sat in front of the tub and cried. I picked up a bar of soap and threw it across the room, forgetting about the two little children watching me.

"Mummy, want bath." Rissy told me. Kai and Jay appeared in the doorway, they must've heard me throwing the soap.

"Everything alright, Honey?" Kai asked me.

"No. Nothing is right." I said. "I've lost my connection to Nya. I knew it would happen eventually, but... It feels too soon."

"I'll bathe the kids." Jay offered, looking at Kai. Kai nodded, they must have some telepathic guy language that I don't know about.

"Let Jay bathe them, Lori." Kai pulled me up into his arms. I stood there, tears stinging my cheeks like hot lava. Before I knew it, he had scooped me up and was carrying me away. I hugged him tight to me, feeling the heat that emanated off his body.

"I love you." I whispered.

"I love you, too." He whispered back.

Present Day, Bird's POV

After we got back from the trip to the Sea of Sand, I had intended to play Candy Crush for several hours. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Zane reheated some soup he had made yesterday (It's been pretty much soup every day for the past few years, although it always tastes amazing) and after we ate Lloyd wanted to teach us Spinjitzu.

"We'll have Cole and Kai practising outside as well just in case, but we've changed the course slightly. You'll just have to complete this new course before, uh.."

"You finish your tea?" Kai asked.

"I don't drink tea, Kai. Even if I did, it wouldn't be fast enough."

"How about they need to complete it before I defeat Kai?" Cole asked.

"You guys really aren't helping." Lloyd ran into the temple and came out a couple minutes later with an hourglass.

"How boring." Kai complained.

"It will have to do, have any better ideas?"

"How about they need to complete it before I defeat-" Cole said again.

"Guys knock it off. Hourglass it is." Lloyd ran into the middle of the training area and pushed a dragon statue lever over. A whole training course appeared. He flipped the hourglass over, and sand slowly started falling into the bottom half. "This is much too much time." He said. "Skylor?"
