Rissy's POV

Yet again, I'm stuck in bed with nothing to do.

Kristina said that apparently, my concussion did not go away as she had previously thought, and that it's going to be many more weeks of dark rooms and boredom.

I am the Master of Fire, I should not be sitting in bed, while the others kick Blekksprut butt.

Then again, we haven't seen the Blekkspruts for a number of weeks.

They're going to attack sometime soon, and we aren't going to be prepared at all.

Kristina has also forbade Annie from using her powers to get rid of my concussion. So I get to wait this baby out.

I tried to sit up, but I failed miserably. My head began spinning and I saw stars. Grabbing the side of my bed and using the wall to hold me steady, I slowly pushed myself up into a sitting position. Ignoring the pounding in my head, I held my position. Sitting. That's an achievement.

"Blekkspruts! They're attacking Ninjago City again! The same spot!" I jumped as Dad's voice shouted in my ear. I yanked the earpiece out, that really didn't help my head. Blekkspruts? They'll need my help!

I tried to stand, walking slowly and shakilly to the door. Leaning on the wall, I slowly creaked the door open just in time to see Cole and Lloyd running by, followed by Bird. Bird saw the door to my room was open, and stopped to face me.

"Blekkspruts attacking Ninjago City. We need to go, asap."

Did he actually just say "asap"?

"I mean... I guess you can't really go, you're... Not well? Um... I need to go." Bird ran off before I could stop him.

After making my way into the hallway, I realized with dismay that now, I'd have to do stairs. Sitting down, I butt-scooched my way down them, into the control room. I heard Annie and Bird talking to the other Ninja through their earpieces. Annie happened to turn around and see me.

"Riss? We're going to need you." She ran over to me, placing a hand on my head. There was a bright flash and my mind cleared. I got up off the stairs, holding Annie's hand as she recovered. She was sweating and breathing hard, but appeared to be fine.

"You... Didn't have... A concussion..." she said between breaths. "I don't know... What that was... But it wasn't... What Mum thought..."

Not a concussion? That's not important now, though. I need to make sure the Ninja are okay.

"You didn't go with them?" I asked Bird.

"No. They thought it best that I stay here, probably to make sure Annie could handle the controls. Uh, not that you couldn't do it by yourself, I'm sure you'd be able to handle yourself up here."

"Kai's hurt," Cole's voice shouted from the earpieces.

"Where are you?" Kristina asked.

"Near the big burning building."

"Coming."

They need my help. I need to go down there and help them.

The city was now swarming with Blekkspruts. I saw two crawling over a building, four advancing on Mum and Lloyd, and a lot surrounding Jay and Zane. Cole was defending Dad and Kristina as a couple tried to get at them.

"Annie, help me with the rocket launchers. Bird, keep us steady." I ran out onto the deck and began setting up a rocket launcher. Annie was playing with the small cannons attached to the railing.

"Score!" Annie shouted as she hit a Blekksprut.

I had finished the first one, and propped it up on the railing. "We need a lighter," Annie muttered as she held it steady.

"No, we don't," I said, sparks flying across my hand. I started a small flame and lit the rope, watching as the fire climbed towards the explosives. Annie aimed the rocket as I held it steady. With a bang, the rocket shot away, streaking toward the Blekkspruts attacking Jay and Zane. The blast instantly killed some of them, but the remaining Blekkspruts turned and stared up at the Bounty. They then lifted off the ground, and began flying towards us.

"THEY CAN FLY?!?" Jay yelled over the intercom as they came closer to us. He rubbed his hands together and shot lightning at them, only causing one of them to fall out of the sky.

"I count six," Annie said.

"I count seven," I said. "Bird?!"

"I'm on it!" He shouted, and the Bounty veered to the right to avoid their magic. Quickly regaining my balance, I grabbed another rocket, stuffing it in the tube.

"Ready?" I asked Annie. She nodded. I lit the rope, and she aimed the rocket at the group of flying, angry octopods. The rocket took off with a boom. It only hit three of them.

"On our right!" Annie shouted. I turned around, and there was another group of Blekkspruts coming at us from the other side of the ship. I threw a couple fireballs at them, and they countered it with some magic of their own. I looked down at Ninjago, and saw that every Blekksprut had left the ground and was now coming at us.

"We can't let them reach that ship," Mum said.

"Who's flying the ship?" Jay asked.

"Bird is," I replied, continuing to throw fire at the monsters.

"Bird, flip the glass case over a flashing blue button," Jay said.

"Yes! The hyperdrive system!" Bird shouted.

"How do you know about that?"

"Riss and I uh, found out a while back?"

"That doesn't matter now. Press the button, it should enable shields and send you to space. All the simulations I've tried have turned out more or less well."

"More or less?! How is that supposed to be reassuring?!"

"Just do it, Bird. Would you rather be melted by Blekksprut acid?" I asked.

"Blekkspruts coming closer," Annie muttered.

"Melted, or boiled and frozen at the same time?" Bird mused.

"JUST DO IT!" I shouted. There was a click, and a shimmering layer of electricity began encompassing the deck.

"Wait-" Jay said. "I need to be on board, or it won't work. It needs my lightning to hold up the shields."

"That would've been nice to know BEFORE I pushed the button!" Bird yelled. The first Blekksprut had reached the ship. She stuck a tentacle in the shield, and it vaporized instantly. She howled, shooting acid with her other seven tentacles. A rumbling noise began somewhere below us. The ship deck began to shake, and with a whoosh we began to accelerate. "Oh no," Bird muttered. There was a pop, and Ninjago disappeared.
