"One.."
"Two..."
"Three!!!!"
Simultaneously two kunais launched out of our hands and went flying towards each other. Sasuke smiled confidently and launched himself out of my kunai's trajectory, landing behind a fallen log.
I caught his movement out of the corner of my eye while focusing on the kunai flying towards my face. Jumping right as the kunai barely missed its target, nearly slashing through my black, silky hair. Just as it was about to pass me, I backflipped, keeping the kunai in sight, and catching it neatly between my index and middle finger.
"Show off," Sasuke muttered as he advanced onto me, giving me no time to compose myself. I whirled around quickly and sidestepped him, gripping the back of his shirt as he tried to run away.
"Gotcha!" I yelled triumphantly as Sasuke desperately struggled to break my grip. "Now admit I'm your older sister and beg for forgiveness," I ordered, a malicious smile dawning on my face.
"Never!" Sasuke yelled as I began to push him to the ground.
"I'll make you regret what you said," I muttered as I managed to pin him to the ground, sitting triumphantly on his arched back.
For people who don't know me well, they'd think I'm bullying a classmate, but for those who actually know me will chuckle and walk away. This has been part of my daily routine since I became a true Uchiha member around two months ago, officially named as Uchiha Umi. Mikoto says I have grown a lot since first coming to Konoha but I don't really notice a change. Maybe except for the fact that I can now beat up Sasuke even easier.
When I first arrived in Konohagakure, it was said that I was found on the edge of the borders during a patrol and brought in to the Hokage. He had, then, most generously decided to adopt me into the village, putting me under the care of the Uchihas. I have no memory of the past. No memory of a family. But I was able to wield a weapon like any 6-year-old shinobi. Maybe that's a stretch but yes, I knew more about fighting than I should.
I looked up as Sasuke continued to struggle underneath me. An eagle soared in the sky above and circled around for a while after flying away to another part of Konoha. I felt the presence hiding in the woods leave.
Since coming to Konoha, the presence has always been there, watching me. Yet whenever the eagle comes, the presence leave. Yet every time I asked mother what the eagle meant, she shook her head and said it was none of my concern.
At first, Konoha seemed like a wonderland full of things to play with and beat up but after I got to know everywhere, life has become rather dull. There has been a growing pattern to my life here and it goes something like this:
Morning: Wake up. Breakfast. Stalk Itachi. Get caught. Go home. Read ninjutsu books. Lunch.
Afternoon: Train with Sasuke or Fugaku. Beat up Sasuke. Go home. Wait until Itachi gets home and jump on him. Fight with Sasuke over dinner. Think about life. Sleep.
"It hurts!!! Kyaaa...! stop that!"
Anddd there's always this punk.
I sighed as I released Sasuke, who had started screaming threats about "sticking shurikens in my bed" and "ripping out my hair while I'm asleep".
"Umiiiii!" Sasuke squealed at me, glaring, trying to sound threatening. But honestly, as a cute younger brother, he fails at that.
"You just have to admit I'm older and taller and stronger than you. It's not that hard you know." I said, and shrugged, maddening Sasuke even more.
"Wait until nii-san gets home! He'll definitely side with me!" Sasuke pouted and turned away from me.
"Itachi-kun's mine! I won't let you steal him from me." I said while running up to Sasuke and ruffling his hair.
"STOP!" Sasuke literally squealed and ran away from me, his face red like a tomato. I rubbed my ears before following him, trying to catch up
In terms of speed, Sasuke is faster than me, but he knows that whenever he stops he's going to get a "beating".
"Come back here!" I shouted at his back, letting out an animal-like growl as the two of us ran through the forest.
The scene around me felt mystical. Unreal. To have a family and to be accepted... I've worked so hard since I can remember and here... here are the results. The happy ending.
Our shouts and laughs ran through the forest, lit by the setting sun, as night began to fall.

Hey guys, I finally have time (bc of corona... ugh) to rewrite and replan allll of identity and make it (hopefully) into a fabulous fanfic. I started this piece 3~4 yrs ago and let me just say that my writing was not the best. I'm spending a lot of time planning where this story is going to go and this direction was definitely not the one I originally intended. I'll have to rewrite all the parts and I'll change it piece by piece.
Please bear with me (if anyone is still even reading this... I doubt but... hey, let's keep it positive).
Thank you so much again~~
