"Be careful Rune"
It was an eerie warning that she should have listened to.
Taking risks was out of Rune Ambrosia's character but with the recent death of her best friend she had nothing else to lose.

Flashback
Golden beams of sunlight dripped onto our skin. Seagulls singing melted into the blue summer sky whilst a gentle breeze wisped past us. We moved along the lengthy line of people gathered around the train station waiting to get on board.
"Did you remember the strawberries?" Vera whined softly, looking down at her grumbling stomach with a pout on her lips.
"Obviously I did, how could I forget when you kept harping on about them?" Mads complained, lifting up the red blanket covering the strawberries in her picnic basket.
"You know I love my fruits" she blushed shyly rubbing her stomach. Her white plain summers dress flowing in the wind along with her beach hat.
"Because you're just as sweet as one" I giggled with a deformed wink.
How do people perform such acts? I can't even blink without getting an eyelash caught in my eye let alone wink.
"Ew that sounds like another one of Junipers cringy pick-up lines" Mads gently rubbed another layer of sunscreen onto her arms.
"You have to admit that was a good one though" I swiped a strawberry from the basket nibbling on it.
"It was better than Juniper that's for sure" Vera clasped her dainty hands onto her hat trying to get it to stay put while brushing away her hair which kept flowing over her face.
"Anyone's better at flirting than Juniper" Mads face crinkled into disgust. "He couldn't pick up a cold even if his life depended on it-"
We both froze as Vera jumped down onto the train tracks picking up her hat but before she could manage to get out a loud screech from the train halted her.
Present Time
After that day the railway station was closed down due to that accident. I remember she was immediately hospitalized and luckily got away with just a broken rib. The damage could have been much worse.
But it's with that damaged rib the led to her un-timely death.
"Miss Ambrosia?" the police officer Damien called me, setting me free from my thoughts.
I looked up to see a fog of light wafting into the cell.
I could finally take off the mask without Victoria making a fuss over it.
It was still so weird to think that he was also the King of the vampires yet worked as a police officer on earth.
