"Lighten up a bit you never have any fun" I smashed my wine bottle at her.

Not to hit her. But to make her scared. Her body coiled into anger as she burrowed her face into a scowl.

"There's a difference between having fun and being completely reckless" she screamed, jotting a step forward into my face. From this close, all her veins tensed out of her neck and sharp wrinkles creased her forehead making her once sweet blue orbs dissolve into hatred.

All

For

Me

"You've changed Rune" her face softened and she clipped her hands into each other looking over to the side. Moonlight clasped the balls of tears welling in her eyes. It glinted back into my soul dusting it in a hot powder.

I allowed my ears to drain into the muffled music from inside, letting my body soak into the cold drowning into my skin and the tall trees of the forest to dusk over the darkness of the night.

At least with that kind of darkness it all evaporates once the spangles of sunlight sprinkle over the messy mistakes.

But with the darkness eating away at my soul, it would be different. It might take a while to repair things.

"You think I've changed?! Sorry we can't all be  perfect" I snapped, kicking the shards of glass.

It wasn't the anger controlling me. It was the alcohol infusing into me pulling all my strings along until I was fully blinded by rage.

"Rune" she yelled, slicing her high-pitched voice into the atmosphere. Birds croaked whizzing past us. They weren't the only ones scared by that outburst.

"Don't Rune me, Madeline was right, you are holding me back, you make me look boring in front of everyone and I'm so tired of being that girl" my emotions bubbled up inside me until it just exploded. "So, what if I've changed then it's for the better"

"If this is who you want to be then fine" she slowly turned around, her blonde curls floating in the crisp air "It looks like I'm the only one that will miss the real Rune Ambrosia"

Gradually her body disintegrated into the strands of black air and a stagnant breath filled my presence. I was alone.

"Fine be like that, see if I care" I yelled my voice echoing off the trees bending down on me.

I gulped whipping around on my heels. The tree branches pricked my skin like needles as I sped up. I rubbed my bare arm and sighed. A drop of blood slid down it but that was the least of my problems. My balance wavered along with my sight as everything transcended into a blur. Great I was drunk and just had a fight with my best friend.
